We're a family of outdoor enthusiasts, and Northern Maine is our paradise. With its vast wilderness, pristine lakes, and endless trails, this region has everything we've ever wanted for our adventures. Over the years, we've created unforgettable memories exploring this beautiful region. We've hiked to the summit of Katahdin, splashed in the crystal-clear waters of surrounding lakes, and keep on discovering ever-new trails on our bikes and four-wheelers.

But what's made our experiences even more special is the warm and welcoming community that surrounds us. Our neighbors, from the local farmers and artisans to the shopkeepers, have become like family to us. We've had the pleasure of getting to know the Amish community, who have shared their wisdom, kindness, and delicious produce and homemade treats with us. We've enjoyed many lovely evenings with our neighbors together, savoring homemade ice cream and blueberry pie under the starriest skies in the country. But it's not just the people who made us feel at home - it's the entire region's strong sense of solid values, support and strength of community.

Our lake cottage, which we've lovingly maintained and improved over the years, is more than just a vacation home - it's a reflection of our love for this region and our desire to share it with others. We've poured our hearts into making it the perfect retreat for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike, and we're excited to now open its doors to you. As we continue to make new memories and improvements to the property, we invite you to join us on this journey. Stay tuned as we keep on making new enhancements every year, and we hope you'll enjoy your stay at our little slice of Northern Maine heaven as much as we have.

Why they chose this property

Leave the hustle and bustle behind and immerse yourself in the untamed beauty of Northern Maine, where rugged outdoors and unspoiled nature await. Let our spacious log cabin on a pristine Spaulding lake be your haven. Hike, bike, ATV, snowmobile through the vast wilderness, explore pristine swimming and water activities, and experience the thrill of the great outdoors. Yet, after a day of adventure, retreat to our wonderful cabin, where comfort and warmth envelop you. As night falls, enjoy the breathtaking views of the star-filled sky, as our location is considered one of the best places for stargazing in the US.

The Northern Maine Community: True Reflection of the Region's Beauty!

This community is strong, giving, honest and pure - just like the environment that surrounds it. We love to come to Northern Maine to recharge, escape the daily hustle, and reconnect with nature and each other. The region's abundance of outdoor activities and stunning natural beauty makes it perfect for those who love to spend time outside, whether for play or for work, and we feel blessed to be a part of it.

What makes this property unique

Inside our well-appointed cottage, you'll find a fully equipped kitchen with high-quality utensils, pots, and pans, including a lobster boiling pot, and all the modern appliances you need. After a busy day full of adventures, the kids and parents will enjoy privacy of 4 large bedrooms with comfortable beds, complete with luxurious linen sets and cozy blankets. Large family room, wrap around loft, activity room in the walk-out basement will provide opportunities to get closer to your loved ones and make your stay truly memorable. Three full baths, full size washer and dryer and all the amenities you need to feel at home are also at your disposal.

But the real magic happens outside! Roast marshmallows at our lakefront fire pit, where we've provided complementary firewood, marshmallows, and skewers. Enjoy an outdoor cookout on our combo gas griddle and grill, with fresh bison meat available just a quarter mile away at a local farm. Explore the Northern woods right on our 4 acre property opening into a 400 ft of pristine lakes waterfront with a boat slip and complimentary kayaks, SUP paddleboards and canoes (user assumes all risks and responsibility for the equipment).
We've also designed our cabin with sustainability in mind, incorporating locally sourced and renewable building materials, LED lighting and a grey water recycling system, to minimize our impact on the environment.

As you settle into our cabin, you'll have the perfect opportunity to unplug and recharge. While the Starlink Wifi system is strong and reliable, we've intentionally chosen not to provide cable TV, allowing you to reconnect with nature and your loved ones. Without the distractions, you can focus on the things that truly matter: spending quality time with family and friends, finally playing that long-forgotten board game, exploring the great outdoors, and rejuvenating your mind and body.
