IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
This property is 4 miles up a mountain at 7,000 feet elevation. The road is privately maintained and has some pot holes and washboard so while a high clearance vehicle isn’t required, it is recommended.
We’re delighted to have you enjoy this off-grid cabin experience. Because the cabin relies on a limited, self-sustaining power system, we kindly ask that you use electricity thoughtfully during your stay. Simple habits—like turning off lights when not in use, limiting high-energy appliances, and being mindful of overall consumption—help ensure there’s plenty of power for everyone’s comfort. Your care and consideration make it possible to preserve this peaceful, low-impact retreat for all who visit. Thank you for helping us keep it running smoothly. There is a main house about 200 meters away. The hosting family is there. They foster friendly rescue dogs: 3 Siberian Huskies, 2 GSDs and a little Belgian. These are for your protection: they keep mountain loins and bear away that’s spotted frequently so they do some rounds a few times a day. There are young turkeys on the property (guests often feed them bread). There are chickens on property.
You have 40 acres to explore that include a pristine and joy evoking creek just steps from your door.
There is a gun range to your right: Allows up to 50BMG to 500 yards Life size steel targets with vitals include: Mule deer, white tail, mountain goat, big horn sheep, bison, elk, wolf and grizzly bear, and Moa size spinners. And a pistol/ rifle tac bay up to 20 Shooters with grizzly and custom Texas star target also 20 hostage taker targets. Open for guests to zero and practice, instructor on site and available for extra cost. NOTE: due to safety precautions, on-site instructor must be available in order to shoot. Guests wanting to utilize the gun range must ensure booking plenty of time in advance to ensure on site instructor is available. Utilization of gun range is an additional fee.
While we honor solitude, we are happy to be as accessible as it’s pleasing. There is a main house about 200 meters away. There are rescue dogs on property, chickens and turkeys. Guests feed turkeys bread so they have a habit of coming and greeting for food!
All available on request:
Toddler bed Children’s toys and books Dino waffle maker French press coffee maker (coffee NOT included) Waffle maker Milk frother machine (for coffee) Instant pot Air fryer Extra towels Free weights and dumbbells Waffle bowl maker (for ice cream) 2 yoga mats Fresh farm eggs $5 a dozen Dog kennels sizes small to large
Because the road is maintained by those of us who live here, please drive slowly - between 15-20mph. This really helps us with washboarding.
NOTE: This is a pet friendly home, however there are free range chickens on property within a quick sprint distant and owners will be responsible for their canines.
NOTE: Guest occupancy is 5 and after is $15 per person per night. This is because of the cost of accommodation and maintenance. Thank you for understanding!
NOTE: For one night stays only, there will be a cleaning fee of $25 for guest occupancy higher than 3. NOTE: Please ZERO cigarette smoking on premises. Even smoking outside gets tracked indoors and it’s very difficult to get the smell out. STARTING OCTOBER: Price for cabin is reduced because its wood heat only. We have a big wood stove that properly heats the cabin. We do have forced air heating but that will be an extra cost, prepaid before arrival.

This is an off-grid cabin home. Very nice! High on the mountaintop about a 4-mile dirt road but pretty well maintained. It has some little quirks but the host was able to guide us through them. Beds were very comfortable. Cabin is nice and roomy and beautiful areas outside to walk your dog or take a morning or an evening walk. Has a really nice covered porch and several fire pits. We were so busy we didn't get a chance to use them but they are there for you to use. The only negative I have to say is the lighting in the house is pretty dark once the sun goes down? It's on solar, but lights are not very bright. Bring your own personal supplies ( shampoo, soap etc..) very limited spices which is fine. Salt and pepper are great. Kitchen is pretty well stocked with pots and pans and dishes and utensils. It gets nice and cool at night, great for sleeping. Bring a light jacket or sweatshirt for the cooler nights and mornings.
