About this property

Lakefront house on Damariscotta Lake, perfect getaway

Your own remote Maine retreat awaits! Your secluded lakefront paradise sports a contemporary design mixed with an old Maine cabin, giving it a welcoming atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling windows adorn the living room which has been completely renovated as of 2022 with new furniture. Unwind on comfortable furnishings here and watch the sun glistening on the lake, and witness beautiful sunsets for days. The open space of the gourmet kitchen has top-of-the-line cookware, tableware, and a chef's stove, ready to prepare everything from a tasty snack to a full-blown feast. All bedrooms have been renovated with new furniture as well creating a comfortable and pristine space for downtime. For a second guest couple or grandparents of a family, there is a newly painted and decorated detached suite above the garage with skylights and stunning lake views. The 150' lakefront features a gently sloping pebbled area that's great for little ones to play in the water, a new dock with a ladder that can accommodate an 18' boat, and another spot that's perfect for launching one of the kayaks, paddleboard, or Sunfish that are all available to guests. Gaze at the lake or the giant pines from the hammock, or close your eyes and drift off for a nap to the sound of the water lapping at the shore.

Located on a private road with only four other houses in the immediate area, you'll have much of the lake to yourself. Watch the loons swimming just off the shore or enjoy the sunset directly across the lake from the privacy of your home, completely removed from the outside world. You'll also be close to amazing attractions should you get out. The outstanding Ginger Mousse Bakery is just an easy walk or three-minute drive up the road, and fine dining and shopping are 15 minutes down Route 1 in Damariscotta. Here, you can check out an art museum or two. World famous waterfront seafood at Muscongus Bay Lobster and Shaw's Wharf are just 20 minutes. Climbing Mt. Megunticook or taking the boat out to Monhegan. Nearby activities also include golf, as well as local trails. Whatever you choose, there is no shortage of adventures near this lovely home!

Special Place to Stay in Mid-Coast Maine

Port Clyde is wonderful as is the whole St. George peninsula and Rockland. The house is comfortable and well-appointed, with a fabulous view and a private beach and cove. A little slice of paradise.

Amazing House, Spectacular Location

The house was exactly as shown in the pics that allowed for the perfect outdoor, cove, beach, deck, and yard activities while having all the amenities for the rainy indoor days. Quiet secluded area and a mile walk on a beautiful quiet street to Port Clyde.

Quiet, convenience, and comfort with a beautiful view!

A great location with a wide ranging selection of activities and local restaurants in this area and with such a comfortable and lovely place to come home to. The home was very well equipped and clean. It has a very private location and is quiet and restful. We have visited Port Clyde several times and have decided this is our favorite by far. We look forward to many returns.

A Perfect Spot!

We stayed at this lovely home for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The access to the water and a private beach exceeded our expectations. The proximity to all that Port Clyde has to offer was a bonus. The General Store, Restaurant , Ice Cream Shop, Wyeth Gallery and the Ferry to Monehegan were so close! The house was comfy and we can't wait to visit again! Thank you!

Another perfect stay!

We were so thankful to be able to travel to Maine this year despite the pandemic. The house was perfectly and professionally cleaned. The new landscaping looks amazing! We can`t wait to come back next year! This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

Home away from home

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We make a stay at Vannah Lane a definite in our summer plans every year! This was our 5th (we think) stay and each time we arrive we feel like we’re home. The house is always spotless and well stocked with everything we need to be comfortable. The view of the water is wonderful (don’t forget your binoculars to get a close up of the seals, eagles and lobster boats!) and the dogs love to walk the path to the beach to swim. Vannah Lane is a quiet, serene getaway that we can’t imagine a summer without. We love being able to walk to Port Clyde daily for a coffee or snack and our daily walks to and from Marshall’s Point lighthouse is always a highlight. We’ve come to love Vannah Lane and Port Clyde as if it was our very own. As always, we can’t wait to return to this special place.

Check the propane

The home was beautiful, clean and on a wonderful lot! Our only suggestion to anyone staying here is to check the grill and propane as soon as you arrive if you plan to grill. When we tried to use the grill it had not been maintained at all. The grill itself had not been cleaned and there was no propane available. Both tanks were empty. When I notified the management Co, I was told they were sorry there was no propane, but it was after hours, about 6:10pm, and they could not get any propane out to us. We were told we could take the tank and get our own propane. Though the property management company communicated very quickly with us, I was very disappointed that no one had checked the grill when the property was readied for our stay and the only offer to handle the oversight was for us to deal with it ourselves. We stayed a few more days after we reported the issue. No propane was delivered before we left. Everything else about the home was as advertised and wonderful. Though the grill issue seems small and insignificant, when we have limited time to relax in our crazy lives, it is disappointing to pay for a VRBO instead of staying at a hotel, only to have one of the biggest draws of staying in private home unavailable to us.
