About this property
Monte Rio 2BR A-frame cabin with private hot tub — dog friendly
Summary:
Sink into your private hot tub as redwoods tower overhead, their scent mingling with the woodsmoke from neighboring chimneys. This coral-colored A-frame welcomes you and your pup with contemporary comfort wrapped in classic cabin charm. Sleeps 6 in two queen bedrooms plus a sleeper sofa. Just 0.8 miles to Monte Rio Beach and 0.2 miles to Northwood Restaurant. The Russian River's unhurried rhythm sets the pace here — kayaking, golf, and riverside dining all within minutes.
The Space:
A coral-colored A-frame under the redwoods, a private hot tub on the stone-tiled deck, and Monte Rio Beach — volleyball courts, seasonal kayak rentals — 0.8 miles down the road. Two queen bedrooms and a sleeper sofa sleep 6, and one dog is welcome to make the trip.
An open great room holds two seating areas — sofas around a leather ottoman, plus a burgundy reading chair — all framed by forest through large windows. Abstract artwork pops against white walls and honey-toned wood trim. Dramatic black granite with bold veining tops the U-shaped kitchen, with light wood cabinets and a French door fridge alongside the gas range. A peninsula seats four for bar dining beneath a skylight — coffee at sunrise lands here, every time.
OUTDOOR LIVING
The expansive stone-tiled deck becomes your outdoor living room. A wicker sectional creates a lounge area, a high-top table with bar stools invites alfresco meals, and the gas grill handles evening barbecues. Then slip into your private hot tub as stars peek through the redwood canopy.
MONTE RIO AND THE RIVER
Bia Cafe pours morning coffee practically next door at 0.1 miles, Northwood Restaurant holds down the historic golf club at 0.2, and Highland Dell Lodge serves dinner with river views 0.9 miles away. Korbel's champagne tours run 2.9 miles east, Porter-Bass Winery pours at 1.7, and the Monte Rio Redwoods Trailhead opens forest hiking 1.5 miles from the door. Radiant floor heating keeps the cabin warm on cool forest mornings.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
Two queen bedrooms — the first with glass doors to the deck, the second with built-in closets. Both showcase exposed beam ceilings and forest views. A queen sofa bed in the living room accommodates extra guests. Sleeps 6.
PROPERTY AMENITIES
-- Private hot tub
-- Gas grill
-- Full kitchen with dishwasher
-- Washer and dryer
-- Dog-friendly (1 dog up to 50 lbs.)
-- Four-car garage parking
Guest Access:
Drop into the private hot tub on the deck under exposed wood beams, then cook out at the deck kitchen as the redwoods close in. You've got the whole home, dogs welcome, with a jetted tub for the soak after, a balcony off the main level, and outdoor dining among the trees. Punch in the keypad code at the door; the garage fits two officially, four if you tandem them in.
The Neighborhood:
Your A-frame sits in Monte Rio's quiet forest setting, where towering redwoods create a natural cathedral around the neighborhood. Bia Cafe is practically next door at 0.1 miles for your morning coffee fix, while Northwood Restaurant at the historic golf club is just 0.2 miles away. Stock up on essentials at Fern's Market (0.8 miles) or head to Bartlett's Market (1.0 mile) for a wider selection. The famous Monte Rio Beach with its volleyball courts and seasonal kayak rentals is an easy 0.8-mile journey. For dinner, try the historic Highland Dell Lodge (0.9 miles) with its river views, or venture to Lightwave Coffee & Kitchen (1.3 miles) for American and Middle Eastern fusion. Wine lovers will appreciate Porter-Bass Winery just 1.7 miles away, while the renowned Korbel Winery champagne tours are 2.9 miles down the road. The Monte Rio Redwoods Trailhead (1.5 miles) offers immediate access to forest hiking, and Patterson Point Preserve (1.3 miles) provides riverside walks.
Getting Around:
Monte Rio is about 90 minutes from San Francisco via 101 and River Road — a winding drive through redwoods and river country. Your home includes a massive four-car garage, so parking is never a concern. A car makes the Russian River Valley easy to explore, from redwood trails to riverside wineries. Cell service gets patchy in the redwoods, so downloading offline maps before you arrive is worth it.
Other Things to Note:
• The home's radiant floor heating keeps you cozy on cool forest mornings — no traditional AC needed as the redwood canopy and cross-ventilation naturally cool the space even on warm summer days.
• Your smart TV connects to your streaming accounts for movie nights.
• The Pack-N-Play in the closet makes traveling with little ones easier.
• Monte Rio's charm lies in its authentic, unhurried pace — this isn't a resort town but a genuine river community where the dress code is swimsuits and sandals.
• Cell service can be spotty under the redwoods, but the home's internet keeps you connected when needed.
• The primary renter must be 21 or older.
• For the best river experience, bring water shoes — the rocky riverbed makes them essential for comfortable swimming.
• Highway 116 runs through town, so you may hear some road noise, but it quiets considerably at night when the forest sounds take over.

Nice house
Really nice place to stay Pretty private. Many restaurants and stores close by. Located off of main, but noise wasn't an issue.
We had a lovely time here. The hot tub was a great touch. Everything was clean and they had all the extra stuff we needed to make our stay comfortable.
Overall, the cabin was very nice, with more than enough room for my wife and me. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we were especially pleased with all the knotty pine and the big wooden beams overhead. The cabin was also conveniently located close to the attractions the area is known for, including the big redwoods, shops, wine tasting, and, of course, the river. On the downside, it's quite noisy, and the cabin is right next to the main highway that goes through town. Although the cabin is nestled among the redwoods and is quite scenic, the noise is a definite deterrent, especially at 7:00 am. Bring earplugs for sure. The house could also benefit from a bit more maintenance. The wood floors were super squeaky, there were a couple of burned-out light bulbs, and the jacuzzi cover was covered with bird poop when we arrived. The square table cover outside was also torn, and the candle underneath was pretty disgusting and needs to be replaced. Finally, I feel like we paid a lot more than the cabin was worth, and the cleaning fee seemed really high. Maybe this is just due to the season and the typical supply and demand for the area. Overall, it was a nice cabin, and we enjoyed our stay, but next time, we'll stay somewhere a bit quieter, and perhaps a bit less expensive.

Redwood getaway
This place was awesome, easy to get to, access, and had everything we needed! Would absolutely recommend moving forward
My fiance and I stayed here to get out of the city for a few days. The place was perfect. House had all the essentials and the hot tub was key. It was a little raining so we had ourselves some cozy evenings.
Very pleasant stay in the woods and near downtown Guerneville. Clean and comfortable. It’s on the side of the road and there’s slight car noise.

We passed your comments along to our local manager to review and we appreciate guests’ preferences as a means to continually improve. We look forward to hosting your next stay!
The place is sweet and comfortable. Has a nice hot tub overlooking tall redwoods. However, if you’re at all sensitive to road traffic noise, beware it is right on Route 116; you hear the cars, trucks, motorcycles going by.
Very happy with the house and property. Didn't like being so close to the road but you forget about it if you've got music on. The breakfast at the golf course was great too.

Our new get away
We loved it, great location, don't let the main road deter you. We had 0 problem with road noise. Very clean and well designed. Love the hot tub plus the jacuzzi tub. We didn't want to leave! Very comfortable, we felt right at home.
This is a beautiful, tight, remodeled property.
The parking is great and the layout makes it feel larger and it would be wonderful for two couples, wanting to explore.
Everything is comfortable.
The hot tub is great to relax in.
The neighborhood is upscale and near the golf course and it’s very easy to find.
The house is located in a neighborhood with redwoods spread throughout providing a cool retreat. The house is well equipped and we were easily able to prepare dinner. A local cafe serves excellent breads, muffins and frittatas making breakfast an easy feast.
Very cute cabin. It is dog friendly but its not fenced so beware. Its right next to the highway. Overall the stay was great but the check out time was a little early at 10am. I would stay here again if I was not bringing my dog.
Was amazed at all the items in the kitchen. Wanted or needed anything for cooking. The one thing that was a little disappointing was not having local tv to watch thanksgiving football and had to purchase YouTube to watch.

Little Cabin in the Woods
It was so nice to stay in this beautiful little cabin for a weekend getaway. If you like to golf, you can just walk to Northwood Golf Course. So convenient. We were cozy and warm all weekend long. I loved all the furnishings and decorations. Attention to detail was not missed in this cabin.
