Absolutely adorable home. Perfect for a trip to visit family in rural Nebraska. The little extras in the home, made the trip much easier. Host was super responsive and we will definitely rent this home for our next family reunion.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It was a joy to provide you and your family a place to stay while visiting. We built this spot for this exact reason. Please look us up next time you come through we would be delighted to have you again.
Overall the place was such a gem! I appreciated being close to my family in rural Nebraska and having multiple rooms for my family to stay in! The cost was super affordable, and the owners were very chill/responsive. When they found out I was coming for a funeral they even left me a sympathy card.

About the host
Hosted by Jamie Gustafson
I was born and raised in Hordville, Nebraska, and after spending time away, I chose to come back home. I see our little village with fresh eyes now—its quiet dirt roads, brick downtown, and slower pace feel really special. I love sharing this place and our local businesses with guests so they can experience the same small‑town charm that brought me back.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because it captures the best of small Nebraska village life. Just a few blocks away, a local opened a fantastic bar with great draft beer, exposed brick walls, and the kind of genuinely friendly Nebraska folks you hope to meet. Just up the road, another local started a winery with wonderful food and special treats. It’s a perfect stop for anyone traveling across the country who wants a taste of small‑town Nebraska charm instead of another night along the interstate. There is also an amazing trail just a few miles away - The Dark Island Trail, that takes you over the Platte River. If you bring your bike, you can travel the whole 16 miles through the Nebraska fields.
What makes this property unique
What makes this home unique is the space and calm it offers. The large, fully fenced backyard gives dogs and kids plenty of room to stretch out, run, and play. Evenings are especially special here—Hordville is quiet and dark enough that you can sit outside and enjoy beautiful Nebraska star‑gazing in a way you just don’t get in bigger towns or along the interstate.
