On the edge of the picturesque and largely car-free mountain village of San Martino above Rezzonico, the rustic and tastefully restored natural stone house Rustico Antico is located, with a dreamlike view of the lake and mountains and a beautiful open garden about 500 meters above Lake Como. The Rustico is surrounded by simple village houses. The garden has two levels: there is a play and relaxation area in addition to the covered seating area at the holiday home. Below, there is another relaxation area with a sofa and sun loungers with a large parasol accessible by natural stone stairs. The path at the Rustico connects to neighboring houses. Your terrace, wind-protected and covered, offers a view of Lake Como and the green idyll around it, with a dining table. At the Locanda, a village restaurant on the small Piazza, you can meet for an aperitif or enjoy your dinner with a view of the sea of lights above Lake Como.
Several small and mostly gently sloping beach sections are located along the lakeside promenade. A 1.5 km long footpath leads from San Martino to the lake.
The Rustico has antique terracotta tiles on the first floor and in the bathroom, as well as elaborately restored wooden floorboards in the bedrooms. The furnishings are a mix of modern comfort and antique elements. Exposed stone walls and plastered walls in warm Mediterranean colors alternate. The history of the house is lovingly combined with the needs of the demanding individualist.
The holiday home is located on a hillside with entrance via a stone staircase from the garden to the first floor:
Like in the olden days, you enter directly into the farmhouse kitchen via the stairs, which has been carefully restored and equipped with modern amenities, as well as a living kitchen with a window fireplace and a large dining table. A passageway leads to the adjacent living room with a wood stove, a couch area with a double sofa bed for two people and a window with a view of Lake Como.

In the ground floor/basement of Rustico Antico there is a fascinating wine cellar with a cozy sitting area as well as a laundry room with storage space for bikes and sports equipment.
San Martino is a paradise for individualists, those seeking tranquility, hiking enthusiasts and gourmets. Secluded and yet united in the village community, San Martino is a prime example of carefully preserved mountain village culture. Enjoy the idyll or discover the entire Lake Como, the nearby Lake Lugano, Intelvital or even Lake Maggiore from here by car and excursion boat.
Mr. Carlo has his own 40 hp motorboat - his son organizes interesting cultural and sports excursions on Lake Como for up to 4 people.
On-site you will find a fascinating selection of affordable and exquisite red and white wines - upon request. Carlo's passion.
The holiday home is only partially suitable for children and guests with limited mobility - open, steeper stairs in Rustico, as well as the paths in the neighborhood require increased caution.
Even in winter, this holiday home - heated with wood - is a secret tip for lovers of Italy. The landlords Mr. Carlo and his wife Giulia are continuously improving their holiday home with a passion for authentic details.
You can park at the village entrance about 350 meters from your holiday home. A handcart is available for luggage transport. You can reach your holiday home via a slightly sloping village path. We recommend sturdy footwear.
