About this property

Holidays on the beach! Rustic cabin, modern amenities, great views-dog friendly!

Experience the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort at this one-of-a-kind beachfront cabin. With direct access to the sound, sand, sweeping mountain views, and unforgettable sunrises, this 3-bedroom cabin with a cozy loft offers a stay that feels both peaceful and elevated.

I'm honestly not sure whether I love the view of Mount Baker over the water or the beautiful ancient Madrona trees more. I am certain I love the ability to drop a kayak right into the water or to spend all day watching the sea life as the tides come and go. The cabin feels cozy and inviting and doesn't make me work too hard to enjoy it (it is way above glamping and not as stress inducing as some of those perfectly untouchable waterfront McMansions).

Great free WIFI. Whether you want a remote feeling getaway or a great place to do remote work, this cabin is ideal.

The cabin maintains its warm, natural character—wood textures, cozy spaces, and a relaxed coastal feel—while offering thoughtfully upgraded amenities that make your stay easy and comfortable. It’s the ideal setting for guests who want an authentic cabin experience without sacrificing convenience.

Start your mornings with coffee as the sun rises over the mountains, spend your days in the water - you are just steps from the beach, enjoy the fire pit or unwind in a comfortable, welcoming space at night.

Sleeping Arrangements:
Bedroom 1: Queen Bed on lower floor (sea level) with private exterior entrance, window seats facing the beach, and an interior spiral staircase connecting to the main floor, includes flatscreen TV
Bedroom 2: Queen Bed directly across from the bathroom, flatscreen TV, ocean view
Bedroom 3: Full Size Bed, ocean view, games and toys
Open Loft: Queen bed (cozy, semi-private space) with operable skylight
Twin trundle daybed in living room for additional comfort/guests

The cabin is set up for ~4 people comfortably but can expand to fit more guests. Sleeps 8-10 guests comfortably. Any more may be challenging with one bathroom and overwhelm the island septic system.

Bathroom:
1 bathroom (clean, well-stocked, and updated) with bathtub/shower.

The open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen are enveloped by vaulted natural wood ceiling. The dining area only seats 4 but the table has an expansion leaf if needed. Most prefer to dine on the outdoor deck which has seating for six and a phenomenal view. The deck is fully enclosed with a gate to the parking area and a gate leading to stairs to the lower level. The lower level has chairs and gathering space with an outdoor fire pit. A few steps down from the sea wall leads straight to the beach. High tide will reach the first few steps. The property boundaries extend all the way to the point on the North (left if facing the beach). Each bedroom has its own character, outfitted with comfortable beds, pillows, linens, and guest storage space.

There are two kayaks on site and available for use with waiver.

There are two other cabins adjacent to the property but it is a quiet cove and you can go all visit without seeing anyone other than the resident seal, bald eagle pair, or the local osprey. If you are feeling more adventurous visit the film location of Practical Magic (town of Coupeville), watch sunsets at the sandy beach at Fort Ebey just down the road, or kayak over to Captain Whidbey's Inn for happy hour. The cabin feels secluded but has conveniences not far (10 minutes to modern shopping & restaurants in Oak Harbor) and the quaint town of Coupeville is a few minutes the other direction for antique shops and great dining. You can see the world famous Penn Cove mussel farm right out your window (and a beach full of mussels as well).

This cozy cabin on the edge of Penn Cove was perfect for our weekend getaway. Loved that we could bring the dogs and it was very close to Coupville. Host was communicative and gave good instructions.

We enjoyed our stay. Ideal location. Definitely pet friendly. Back up parking a challenge for some and one bathroom a bit of a challenge for large group. Overall quite enjoyable.

Our overall experience was great. Cocoa’s cove cabin is a very special place. It is well appointed and had everything we needed. We had a minor issue when checking in, but the host was on top of it and helped resolve immediately. We would love to come back soon!

The place was clean and stocked with everything that you could possibly need for a cabin stay. Being on the water was a great morning and evening experience. Seal friends were very active swimming close to shore and slapping their tails. Resident Eagle perched right above us in the tree by the deck. Would definitely book again. Great communication from Renae, an awesome host.

My wife and I absolutely loved our stay here! From the moment we arrived, the house was exactly as pictured and somehow even better in person. It was incredibly cozy, welcoming, peaceful, and the attention to detail was amazing. The hosts truly thought of everything. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked, from condiments and cooking essentials to great knives and barware. The kayaks even came with dry bags for taking your belongings out on the water. There were games, plenty of comfortable sleeping spaces, a bonfire area, and beautiful twinkle lights over the deck that made evenings outside feel so special. It never had that cold or generic Airbnb feeling; it felt like being welcomed into someone’s thoughtfully cared-for home. The location was wonderful, too! We brought our bikes and rode to Captain Whidbey for a lovely meal, spent another day hiking the trails at Fort Ebey with our dogs, and had a day out on the water. Even with a little wildfire haze during our stay, it was absolutely beautiful. On our final morning, we woke up to the most gorgeous sunrise over the water, which was the perfect ending to the trip.More than anything, this house gave us such a peaceful, relaxing few days together. It was a really special stay, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We are already looking forward to coming back!

We went for a weekend with 4 teenagers. Location was great right on the beach and the views were amazing. Perfect for great sunrise photography and for a great time near the fire pit at night. We would be gladly coming back for another relaxing weekend.

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest but didn't know about some of the most beautiful parts of this area until after I had traveled the world as an adult! I am immensely grateful for the opportunities created by vacation home rentals which allows many of us to experience homes and locations that would otherwise be out of reach. Before this option, most of these homes were either sitting vacant as a 5th home for the 1% or a generational home that became difficult for an extended family to maintain and keep up. Because of this option I have created countless memories with my family all over the US and return to my favorite PNW.

Why they chose this property

The cabin feels private and remote but is close to all the modern essentials. It is easy to get to as there are frequent, quick ferries and a drive around option as well.

What makes this property unique

I'm honestly not sure whether I love the view of Mount Baker over the water or the beautiful ancient Madrona trees more. I am certain I love the ability to drop a kayak right into the water or to spend all day watching the sea life as the tides come and go. The cabin feels cozy and inviting and doesn't make me work too hard to enjoy it (it is way above glamping and not as stress inducing as some of those perfectly untouchable waterfront McMansions).
