Summary:

Most South Padre Island vacation rentals advertise being close to the beach. Suntide II sits directly on it. Step off the elevator, walk through the complex’s coded beach entrance, rinse at the sand shower, and you’re done. No parking lot crossings, no hauling gear down a sidewalk - just the Gulf, right there, every day of your stay. This fourth-floor, two-bedroom, two-bath condo is part of a smaller, quieter complex than the mega resorts lining Gulf Blvd. That’s intentional. The building has a heated jacuzzi, a pool, elevated and private tennis / pickleball courts with a bayside view, an elevator (a genuine luxury when you’re traveling with beach gear, young children, or grandparents who’d rather skip stairs), and luggage carts to make arrival and departure easy. A coin-operated washer and dryer sits right outside the front door - rare to find this close at hand in a condo building.



The Space:

The 4th floor layout is comfortable and practical for families. When you walk in, the living area opens directly to the kitchen and out to the private patio — a natural flow for gathering after the beach.



The patio works just as well for a morning coffee as for a sunset margarita. Smart TVs are in the living room and both bedrooms for movie nights, and the kitchen counter doubles as a laptop-friendly workspace if you need to check in on a few things during your trip.

Smart lock entry means no fumbling for keys; your door code arrives by text by 3 PM on check-in day.



SLEEPING (Up to 8 Guests)

The primary bedroom has a king bed with an en-suite bathroom. The guest bedroom has two full beds with an adjacent full bath.

For additional guests, the living room has a sectional couch, two rollaway single beds stored in the closet, and an air bed with pump.

Maximum occupancy is 8 including children and infants — though the space is most comfortable with fewer adults.

Clean, crisp linens and towels are provided for all beds and bathrooms. If you plan to use the rollaway beds, couch, or air bed, please bring your own bedding for those.



KITCHEN & LIVING

The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook real meals: pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and eat-in counter space. Cooking in saves both time and money, and the kitchen is set up to make that easy.

High-speed WiFi is the best available on the island, though as with any island destination, the occasional outage does happen — a hotspot-enabled phone is smart backup if you have critical work to finish.



BEACH ACCESS & OUTDOOR SPACE

Beach access is direct through the complex with a coded entrance and an on-site sand shower, so coming back from the water is genuinely easy.

Chair and umbrella sets are available for rent nearby at $45/day for two chairs and an umbrella — no reservations needed.

South Padre Island allows pop-up tents and beach wagons on the sand, so if you’re bringing a lot of gear, both are worth throwing in the car. Beach toys and towels are not provided.

BBQ grills are not permitted at the property, but charcoal grilling is allowed on South Padre Island’s public beaches — so post-swim cookouts are absolutely on the table.



PARKING

One off-street space is included. Street parking along Gulf Blvd is sometimes available. If you’re bringing a second vehicle, the Post Office and SPI Convention Center both offer free, reliable parking and are an easy walk.

We can’t provide additional on-site parking beyond the one included space, so plan accordingly.



THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Wanna Wanna Beach Bar is within walking distance: burgers, shrimp baskets, a full bar, live music, and beach volleyball all day until 11 PM.

Cafe on the Beach — a well-loved local spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner — is equally close. Despite being steps from some of the island’s busiest venues, the Suntide II complex itself stays quiet and low-key, which is exactly the point.

We offer reduced rates for off-season stays (September 15 – December 15), veterans and active military, and current Texas tackle football coaches (our sons play for Lake Travis in Austin — Go Cavs!). Send a message and ask.



IMPORTANT NOTES

This is a clean, well-maintained, fully functional beachfront condo — not a brand-new luxury remodel. We’d rather you know that upfront and arrive with accurate expectations.

The pool is not heated, the grounds are somewhat dated, and the biggest advantage of this unit is how easy it is: parking is right there, the elevator handles the rest, beach access is direct, and keeping an eye on the kids is simpler when the beach is twenty steps away.



POLICIES

Primary guest must be 23 or older. Guests under 23 are welcome with prior approval and a refundable damage deposit. Strict cancellation policy applies.

A signed digital rental agreement and valid photo ID are required before check-in. No smoking, no parties, no exceptions.

Up to one dog is welcome with an additional $75 pet fee. Pets may not be on furniture, left alone, or brought into the pool area, and must be leashed at all times on property.



SELF CHECK-IN & MANAGEMENT

Suntide II is professionally managed by South Padre Trips — the top-reviewed vacation rental company on South Padre Island. The office is at 2600 Padre Blvd, and phones are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Starter toiletries and cleaning supplies are provided but not unlimited or replenished. For stays of 3 nights or more, complimentary linen and towel exchange is available at the South Padre Trips office.



City STR license is on file, in good standing, and available upon request.

Getting Around:

Getting around South Padre Island is easy! While you can walk to Wanna Wanna Beach Bar and Cafe on the Beach, a car is recommended for exploring the island. One off-street parking space is provided. Additional free parking is available at the Post Office and the SPI Convention Center, both a short walk away. For those flying in, the nearest airport is Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport (BRO), approximately a 35-minute drive. Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available on the island.



Other Things to Note:

Please take note of the following important details to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay. Check-in time is 3 PM, and check-out is at 11 AM. A smart lock provides keyless entry, with your door code sent via text by 3 PM on your check-in day. One off-street parking space is included. Additional free parking is available at the Post Office and SPI Convention Center, both a short walk away. The primary guest must be 23 or older. For March and Easter week, there is a condo security wristband fee of $35 per person (ages 13-33).
