The Space:

Nestled in the heart of Oaxaca’s historic center, Casa Nahual is more than a home it’s a curated awareness sanctuary that reflects the soul of the region through design, tradition, and calm. Inspired by the mythical figure of the Nahual the spiritual bridge between humans and nature every space invites transformation, rest, and reconnection.



With 7 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, the home is perfect for families or groups of up to 16 guests. Each room features artisan-made furniture, handwoven textiles, iconic black clay accents, and sculptural pottery that celebrate Oaxaca’s living heritage. Natural light, soft tones, and thoughtful textures create a sensory experience in every corner.



The rooftop terrace offers breathtaking mountain views and a space to unwind under sunsets, stars, and the moon complete with a wooden soaking tub, cactus garden, loungers, and a BBQ. A second terrace downstairs offers a peaceful corner for slow mornings or sunset conversations.



Though located just steps from Oaxaca’s most iconic markets, restaurants, and cultural landmarks, the home remains peaceful at night a rare balance between vibrancy and rest.

During your stay, you’ll have full access to every area of the house—feel free to explore and make yourself at home in this thoughtfully designed space.



Please note: One room on the ground floor (where the crib is located) has a digital lock. This space is reserved for our staff and contains cleaning supplies. The rest of the house is entirely for your private use.

Staying in Oaxaca’s historic city center means waking up in the heart of tradition, color, and celebration. This neighborhood is alive with the rhythm of daily life—calendas with giant puppets (monos de calenda), live music parading through cobblestone streets, and locals in traditional dress marking everything from weddings to saints’ days.



By day, stroll to iconic sites like the Zócalo, Santo Domingo, and the Ethnobotanical Garden. Dive into the city’s legendary markets: Benito Juárez and 20 de Noviembre, where smoky tlayudas and fresh mezcal await in the famed pasillo del humo.

Getting Around:

Getting around Oaxaca is simple and stress-free. Once you arrive, everything flows naturally—this is a city designed to be enjoyed on foot. The historic center is compact, flat, and walkable, making it easy to explore at your own pace.



From your doorstep, you can reach markets, museums, plazas, restaurants, and galleries within minutes. The energy of the city is right outside, yet your stay remains calm and peaceful.



Need to go further? Taxis are easy to find, and ride-share apps like Didi work reliably. For day trips to places like Monte Albán or Hierve el Agua, private drivers and tour guides are widely available.



Oaxaca invites you to slow down, wander freely, and connect with its rhythm. Just step outside and the city reveals itself to you.



Other Things to Note:

✨ Rooftop Jacuzzi Experience ✨

▸The tub on the terrace is designed as a space for rest and relaxation, it is not a pool or a jacuzzi. Since Oaxaca generally has warm weather, the heating system is not activated by default for every reservation.



If you would like the tub to have warmer water, we’re happy to turn on the heating system for you, this has an additional cost of $300 MXN per day and must be reserved for the full duration of the stay, as the system operates continuously once activated to maintain the ideal temperature.

This approach is also part of our environmental awareness, as given the naturally warm climate in Oaxaca, heating the water is not always necessary.



If you'd like this service, please let us know in advance of your arrival so we can have everything ready for you. It’s important that the heating and filtration systems are not tampered with, as they are calibrated for optimal performance.



▸ **Outdoor Furniture & Cushion Care:**

For the comfort and enjoyment of all guests, our rooftop and terrace areas include outdoor lounge furniture, decorative cushions, and textile elements designed to create a relaxing and elevated experience ✨



▸During rainy season, some outdoor furniture and cushions may be stored for protection, although guests are welcome to set them out and enjoy the spaces freely.



▸We kindly ask that all removable cushions, lounger pads, and fabric elements be properly protected after each use and not left exposed to rain, humidity, dirt, food stains, or excessive sun exposure. Properties include designated storage areas to help protect outdoor furniture and cushions when not in use. In properties without protective waterproof bags, we kindly ask guests to store cushions and removable textile elements inside the property when not being used or during rainy weather.



▸Please note that significant staining, damage, deterioration, misuse, or loss of outdoor furniture, cushions, or textile elements may result in an additional replacement or professional restoration fee of **$3,000 MXN**, which must be covered by the guest responsible for the damage after check-out.
