You can also walk to the bathing island. Wonderful landscapes and numerous activities await you at Northwest Germany's largest inland lake - and that in every season. Steinhude belongs to the town of Wunstorf, located in the Hanover area and is ideal for discovering the countryside by bike or on foot, as well as for taking trips to the state capital of Lower Saxony. Especially on warm summer days, thousands of people looking for relaxation and guests come to the Steinhude bathing island. The large, guarded bathing beach "Weiße Düne" is located on the north shore in Mardorf. It is located in front of a restaurant of the same name and is surrounded by pine and alder trees.
