About this property
Spacious Big Cormorant Lakehouse Huge Deck, Views, & Bonus Sleeping areas
Welcome to Mike & Bette’s Place on Big Cormorant!
This beautifully renovated, 2 bedroom/2 bathroom home with several extra sleeping areas overlooks Glyndon Bay on Big Cormorant Lake, and has some of the best fishing on the lake. People regularly catch fish right off the dock! Nestled on a wooded 2.3 acre lot, you’ll experience the ultimate in privacy at the lake. Enjoy cooking a meal on our large BBQ grill while taking in the view on the incredible wrap around deck. When the sun goes down you can make s’mores around our fire pit, or watch lightning bugs from inside the cozy three season porch. In the winter, there are amazing snowmobile and cross-country skiing trails to keep you busy, as well as ice fishing on the lake. There is plenty of room to relax and hang out inside too. Our open concept main level connects to the spacious family room that includes an 86 inch Roku TV, perfect for watching the big game or a movie night. Our completely finished basement has a tabletop arcade game with 500+ games, as well as an Xbox for the modern gamers. We have free WiFi and designated office space for those who may need to work while here. In addition, there is central AC for those hot and humid days, and two reverse osmosis faucets for filling your water bottles with great tasting water.
Rental includes two stand up paddle boards, two kayaks, small rowboat, fishing poles, multiple lawn games, and a variety of books and board games.
Whether you are seeking a summer escape, a family gathering, or a winter retreat, our property provides the ideal setting for making unforgettable memories!
When viewing the beach photo, notice there isn't very much of a beach. This area is more just access to the dock and lake. You can park boats on both sides of the dock. The area there is not very swimmable because it's so weedy on the bottom. Because we are in the small protected bay, the waves are typically very gentle for launching boats, kayaks, paddleboards or anything else.

About the host
Hosted by MBBC
This house is the house we grew up in. The parents have now moved into an apartment in Detroit Lakes. So, the house has been upgraded and remodeled and is now available for rentals.
Why they chose this property
The neighborhood is almost non-existent. Our nearest neighbor is to the south 150' with woods around about 50% of the property. It's a total of 2.3 acres. There are no neighbors to the North. Basically, we are on the North end of the bay. There's probably an acre of lawn space to play games. Often we set up a badminton court on the lower property
What makes this property unique
This property is unique as it's a huge property surrounded by woods with lake access. It's on a bay where we have very few waves even when it gets windy on the main lake. The huge wrap around deck is high enough above lake level that the views are excellent. The three season porch also overlooks the lake and is great if the outside temp is not ideal. The house is so much bigger than you'd expect from your initial search with 3 living rooms/family rooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 official bedrooms, 2 more sleeping areas (not official bedrooms because the Egress is not large enough to count as a bedroom), and bunk beds in the office.
