About this property

The Oystercatcher-A Bright, off-grid Container home in the countryside.

The Oystercatcher is a 40 ft OFF GRID container home located on a quiet, treed area of our acreage. The setting is remote, with solar power, diesel heaters, propane fridge and wifi to keep you comfortable. This is a working farm. Tractors, farmers and irrigation will be present around property (mainly weekdays).
We are new to VRBO but have a well established super host/guest favourite rating on Airbnb. Feel free to look us up!!
The container home is 350 square feet of thoughtfully designed space. An efficient kitchen/cooking space, melds with a bar top table for eating or working. A small twin fold out couch makes up the lounge space. This couch folds out into a bed that would be a good size for a child. Please let us know if you plan to use it as linen’s are not kept in the home.
The bedroom is at the far end of the container and contains a comfortable queen bed with high quality linen. Floor to ceiling windows flank one side of the container, maximizing natural light and shades for privacy and sun protection when needed.

The bathroom is a comfortable and efficient use of space. Off grid systems are utilized which requires water conservation. The system holds enough water for daily washing and one short shower per day per person.

The outside space is an extension of the home. The deck has a table and chairs and a comfortable love seat to relax in-ideal for morning coffee watching the local eagles in the nest or listening to the birds. Solar lights come on at dusk to allow for light in the shorter months. The deck is covered -providing shelter from rain and the sun. A bbq for grilling with the best view of the farm makes for easy outdoor cooking. A fire pit invites you to stay warm while watching the stars.
