About this property

West Hill Lodge | Private Estate 8 Min to Stratton

Summary:

Set on 27 private acres in Jamaica, Vermont, West Hill Lodge is a secluded mountain retreat just 8 minutes from Stratton. Sleeping up to 12 guests across a 5,000 sq. ft. main house and a private apartment, the property features panoramic views, a year-round hot tub, multiple fireplaces, and heated floors, ideal for ski weekends, summer escapes, or multigenerational stays in every season.

The Space:

West Hill Lodge was designed for groups that want both connection and breathing room, spacious enough to gather comfortably, while still offering quiet corners to retreat to.

The main house features 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, centered around a warm, open living space with two fireplaces and sweeping mountain views. The chef’s kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped for large groups, complete with dual ovens, dual dishwashers, a walk-in pantry, and a kitchen bar with seating for four. Nearby, the dining area comfortably seats eight for long dinners after a day outdoors.

Thoughtful details throughout the home make extended stays effortless: heated floors, a dedicated ski room, a large laundry room, high-speed WiFi, and multiple workspaces for guests balancing time away with remote work.

The primary suite feels like its own private wing, featuring a spa-style bathroom with a nine-nozzle steam shower and an upper loft with a lounge area, TV, and exercise equipment, perfect as a reading nook, quiet workspace, or flexible family space.

Connected directly to the main house, the newly built apartment provides an ideal second living area for additional privacy. The apartment includes 2 additional bedrooms, a full bathroom, a full kitchen, washer/dryer, fireplace, and a private balcony overlooking the mountains.

Outside, the property opens to rolling lawns and expansive mountain scenery. Guests can enjoy a year-round six-person hot tub, firepit, gas grill, and 27 acres of private land to explore. Whether returning from the slopes, enjoying a summer evening outdoors, or watching snowfall from the hot tub, the setting feels distinctly Vermont in every season.

Guest Access:

Guests have full access to the entire property, both the main house and the apartment, including all indoor amenities, the hot tub, firepit, BBQ, and 27 acres of private grounds.

The Neighborhood:

West Hill Lodge offers the rare combination of total privacy while remaining close to some of Southern Vermont’s best year-round destinations.

Stratton Mountain is just 8 minutes away, with Bromley, Magic Mountain, Mount Snow, and Okemo all within easy driving distance, making the home an ideal base for exploring multiple ski areas throughout your stay.

In warmer months, nearby Jamaica State Park, Ball Mountain Dam, and the West River Trail offer excellent hiking, running, swimming, and scenic outdoor access. The Appalachian Trail is also just minutes away.

For dining, shopping, and spa experiences, head west along Route 30 into Manchester, home to boutique shops, excellent restaurants, local farm stands, and the renowned Equinox Spa.

Other Things to Note:

Wildlife: This home sits in a beautiful, rural corner of Vermont, and with that comes the occasional wildlife sighting. We just ask that you be mindful of your surroundings and avoid leaving food or trash out.

Weather: While West Hill Road is generally maintained very well, surrounding roads can occasionally become snowy or slick during winter weather. We recommend arriving in a vehicle with AWD or 4WD, and always driving with care on the local roads. A little preparation goes a long way for a smooth and stress-free stay.

Power & Internet: Power & Internet: The home is equipped with two Tesla Powerwall units that provide backup power in the event of an outage, so you can rest easy knowing your stay won't be interrupted. Reliable high-speed internet is available throughout the property.

AC: There’s central A/C in the main house. However, please note that the apartment off the garage doesn’t have AC.

Pets: We're happy to welcome your pup to the home. There's a $150 fee + tax for the first dog and $100 + tax for a second one. We welcome up to 2 dogs, each weighing no more than 75 pounds, with vaccinations up to date. For everyone's comfort, we kindly ask that dogs stay leashed outdoors and that you clean up after them. Please note that cats aren't permitted due to allergy concerns. Any pet-related damages may result in additional charges.

Maximum occupancy: Please mind that this house can host a maximum of 12 guests per fire code. As per the fire department, infants are included in that number. Therefore, any infants included in the booking above maximum occupancy of 12 would unfortunately result in the reservation being cancelled.
