We had a wonderful stay at this lakehouse while in town for a high school fishing tournament. The location was very convenient to Dreher Island State Park, and the house was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. Parking for multiple trucks and boats. It was a great place to relax and unwind after long days on the water. We really appreciated the hospitality and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

A previous review described the house perfectly when they said it was like visiting a grandparents house. It has a lakehouse in a story book vibe to it. It also has everything you need from bug spray, all the towels you need(inside and out), everything you need in the kitchen, plenty of paper or plastic products so you can just throw them away instead of having a bunch of dishes to wash, extra bed linens and pillows you might need, to even having extra toothbrushes if someone forgets theirs. Eything is labeled to make things easy. The dock has plenty of room (we had 2 boats) and has a place to plug in your trolling motor. There is is a shed with everything you need on the water like kayaks, cubes to pull behind the boat, and a floating mat for the kids to play on by the dock. The driveway had plenty of parking for 2 trucks and trailers plus 4 other vehicles. Another great thing about this house is the location. It is in the Buffalo Creek Area a 5 min boat or car ride to Martin's Landing Marina. The marina has 2 restaurants, a boat ramp, and a little general store if you need ice or adult beverages(does not open until 11am).Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be staying here again.

**What's Wrong With This House?**That was honestly the question running through my mind before I booked it.This was a last-minute trip with my youngest son, and this was one of the only houses still available. Between that and the photos, I found myself wondering, "What am I missing?"Now I know the answer.Nothing.In fact, I think the biggest problem with this house is that the listing doesn't capture what makes it so special.This isn't a sterile vacation rental. It feels like spending the weekend at your grandparents' lake house. It has warmth, personality, history, and something that's hard to find these days... soul.The owners have thought of everything. First-aid supplies, sunscreen, after-sun care, plenty of towels, and a kitchen stocked with everything we needed. It never felt like we were staying in an investment property. It felt like we were guests in a home that had been loved for years.Those little details made all the difference.If you're hesitating because of the photos or because this is one of the only places available, don't. We almost missed out on one of our favorite VRBO stays.We'll absolutely be back.

Had a great stay! The home was so cute and comfortable and the property was lovely. Right on the water with a convenient dock. We had several friends bring kayaks and they had an easy time putting in. We did some swimming off the dock as well. Would stay again!

Kitchen was very well set up with everything needed to cook for the group. Also very nice dishes, pots and pans. The ability to watch football was a great thing also with the YouTube tv app. Nice dock and nice view. The tubes, kayaks and paddle boards were awesome for the kids and adults

We have loved this lake house for many years and have gotten so busy with 'life", we can"t get here enough to enjoy it, so we would like for you too!!

Why they chose this property

Quiet and peaceful...You will love how much wildlife is around our home! Having peace and quiet on the lake, allows for nature to be free! There are several brush piles around the dock, which makes fishing a for sure thing! There have been several tournament wins in the cove too! Turtles, ducks and birds hangout in the cove and eat the little fish and clams! At night, you have your very own nature sound machine.

What makes this property unique

We are second owners ever. The previous owners built the home around the fireplace with one single rock found around the lake in 1972. There is a lot history to the home and if you are interested, there is a guest book that tells you all about the home, previous owners, and the Hurricane Helene destruction.
