3-bedroom lakefront cabin in tranquil Litchfield perfect for relaxing stays

Lake-front cabin on a 9-mile chain of lakes offers a relaxing getaway. This classic seasonal retreat offers three bedrooms (2 on the main floor, and a loft - sleeps a total of 6), full kitchen, and plenty of room to unwind. Outside you'll enjoy birdwatching, fishing, and coffee on the dock. At night, look forward to outdoor dining, a charcoal grill and stories by the campfire.

This lake cabin has a dock, a canoe for guest use, fire pit, charcoal grill, hammock, a selection of games, outdoor dinner table, paddleboard, and Adirondack chairs. Everything you need for a peaceful retreat.

Water is lake-drawn, and potable water provided for drinking and cooking.

A great location - a grocery store and farm stand with homemade donuts is 5 minutes away, local brewery is 3 minutes away. Central to Bates (23 min), Bowdoin (40 min) and Colby (45 min) Colleges. Mini- and actual golf nearby.

The wildlife viewing can be amazing - we've seen a bald eagle grab a fish from the water and heard the call of loons (and seen them, of course).

Maximum stay is 7 days.

Cottage and area were wonderful. Enjoyed exploring the adjoining lakes by canoe. Very quiet and plenty off wildlife. Would highly consider having another adventure there. Thank you Julie!!

Nice cabin! Everything was just as advertised—well organized and thoughtfully stocked. The kitchen had everything we needed, including pots, pans, and utensils, and there were fishing rods, a canoe, and a paddleboard for enjoying the lake. The location is great whether you want to relax and stay put or take short excursions around Maine.

The stay was very peaceful and it is a nice spot for spending time with family. We found plenty of thrift shopping around which is one of our joys when vacationing, lots of farm stands too. Julie communicated very well and was immediately available when I had trouble getting in (my own fault). The cottage had every little convenience you could need. I would recommend this rental.

Happy Haven lives up to its name! The property's lakeside location is beautiful, peaceful and comfortable. It has everything needed for a relaxing getaway, The cabin is clean, well-maintained and thoughtfully prepared. We especially appreciated the cozy atmosphere and all the little touches that made us feel right at home. The host was very responsive, friendly and super easy to communicate with throughout our stay. We paddled the canoe across the lake, sat quietly on the dock listening to wildlife, enjoyed outdoor fires at night and lounged in the hammock. We also enjoyed meals and socializing at the dining room table over looking the beautiful view. We had a fantastic experience and recommend Happy Haven to anyone looking for a great place to stay in the Tacoma Lakes region!

Absolutely amazing stay! Loved the charming cabin, the cute and clever touches in the design--felt like a perfect Maine getaway. Loved the calm and sparkly lake, seeing shooting stars off the dock, canoeing (over the lily pads is fun! It makes a great noise! And the lake is huge and connected to lots of pretty things to look at), cooking in the full kitchen, swimming, lounging in the hammock with a book, and the small library of books available to borrow. Close to both a Hannaford and smaller grocery store, a farm stand (everything was so good! Go there for your produce then get the rest at the supermarket) and more within maybe 15 or so minutes. You feel totally remote in a great calming way at the cabin, but it's comforting to know that if you forget something, you're more than okay. It's a lovely and easy drive, too, and not far from Portland. (Maybe 40 minutes?) Appreciated the beautiful well-appointed kitchen--it was clearly set up by someone who cooks! Even the dishware is pretty. Also, the excellent wifi (more than enough for Zoom!) works all the way to the water if you work from home and want to make your office super jealous. Julie was a kind and generous host. She was prompt, thoughtful, and helpful. Everything was super clean, updated but charming. The window seat with the big windows on the lake is lovely to watch any storms that may come through. We even got a rainbow! What a perfect place--hope to return soon.
