Gezellig (pronounced guh-ZELL-uhk) is a famous Dutch word that captures a feeling of warmth, comfort, and togetherness. It’s the cozy joy of sharing time with friends or family, being in a welcoming place, and enjoying moments that simply feel good and inviting.
Together these words embody what the Gezellig Carriage House represents. Pella’s newest and most convenient property, located just 2 blocks from Pella’s historic downtown and 1 block from the Vermeer Windmill and Pella Historical Museum and Gardens, offers guests a convenient location for all things Dutch! Guests can also easily enjoy all that Pella, and the surrounding area has to offer, including just minutes to Central College and a short drive to scenic Lake Red Rock, Iowa’s largest lake.
Inside guests can choose between two unique and quaint, carriage house style suites with 2 bedroom/1 bath living, appropriately named after our family’s Dutch roots from the provinces of Zuid Holland (South Holland) or Friesland. At over 800 sq ft each, both offer large living/gathering spaces perfect for couples or families to relax after a “day with the Dutch”! A fully equipped kitchen includes all the essentials for a quick snack or full meal prep. A quaint coffee bar and washer/dryer are available in each unit for your added convenience.
Sleeping arrangements are perfect for singles, couples or families and include two large bedrooms with plush king size beds as well as access to a queen-sized sleeper sofa, easily sleeping up to 6 adults. Have a larger group…..Book both units and sleep up to 12, all conveniently together.
Outside guests can enjoy a large, fenced in backyard, concrete patio and shade pergola, perfect for a morning cup of coffee, a relaxing afternoon drink or an evening bar-b-que on the included gas grill. This shared space is perfect for living the “Gezellig” life with your family, friends or new friends made along the way. Additionally, each unit has access to their own 2 car garage as well as two additional driveway parking spaces (total 4 vehicles).
