First of all, Vrbo listing is misleading. It never mentions that it's a second story nor are there ANY pictures of the narrow stairway that you need to climb. I am in my 70s with bad knees. It was an unwelcome surprise to arrive late at night and find that all our luggage and coolers, etc. had to be hauled up the stairs. Once inside, we were absolutely overwhelmed with the smells from plug-ins. Our first duty was to search the apartment. We found SEVEN plug ins in a six room spartment. All of us got headaches and I got an immediate respiratory thing. I did let the owner know that plug-ins are hazardous to human health as much as they are for pets. Once we got through the stair and plug-in debacle we began to look around the place. Although the build out is very nice and the bathroom was very clean, the rest of the place did not feel quite so clean. The rug in the living room was filthy and the couches were stained, as were the bedsheets. We also couldn't get the thermostat to work. It's a cheap one and pretty wonky. We reached out to the owners. They did come and show us how to work the thermostat, but it remained wonky all weekend. They also brought us clean sheets. Brand new sheets in fact that hadn't been washed so my choice was sleeping in washed sheets with stains or new sheets with chemicals. There were also no instructions that the entry is around the side of the home. Although the owner was responsive, for me it's a hard pass on staying here again.

Thank you for your feedback. While we respect individual preferences, several points warrant clarification. Our check-in instructions clearly state, “Unit 2 → door closest to the backyard.” These instructions have worked for guests over the past seven months. Had you needed assistance, we were available immediately as we were for everything else. We understand fragrance sensitivities vary, and guests are welcome to unplug the plug-ins. However, directly attributing respiratory symptoms to them without confirmation is speculative. References to pet safety are irrelevant, as pets are not permitted. You complained about freshly washed sheets, so we immediately purchased and delivered three brand-new sets, which also became a complaint. Neither option seemed satisfactory. Our thermostat is a SMART thermostat, not an inferior appliance simply because its operation was unfamiliar to you. Nevertheless, we personally assisted you. You contacted us around midnight, and we immediately responded rather than waiting until morning. Our cleaning team also documents the property’s condition after every turnover. Although listing says unit 2, we have since made the stairs more prominent in our listing. In seven months of hosting, no other group has expressed this level of dissatisfaction. We welcome reasonable feedback but believe our efforts deserve fair acknowledgment. We regret our property was not the right fit and wish you the best.
