This cozy home sits against the wooded greenbelt for added privacy. No neighbors behind you. Located in the northeast corner of historic Oak Ridge TN. Enjoy the deck under the magnolia tree during those warm summer nights or the cool evenings of fall. Let the kids play in the sunroom where a daybed is furnished for an additional sleeping place. If you're into off roading activities spend your time at the renown Windrock OHV Park. Close to Milton Lake Park where college rowing events are scheduled throughout the year. Visit the Manhattan Project National museum. Enjoy a tour and dinner at the infamous Brushy Mountain Penitentiary in nearby Petros Tennessee. Order a pizza from the locally favorite Big Eds Pizza. This place is so cute! I seriously didn't want to leave. Neighborhood is awesome, carport is so helpful for loading/unloading, super clean and decorated adorably! We only needed to stay for a couple of days for the Barkley Fall Classic, but if we ever need to go back to the area (probably next year for the Barkley Fall Classic,) we would absolutely stay here again!

My wife and I relocated to Knoxville Tn from Lincoln Ca with our four children back in 2005. I am a retired Postal Service truck driver, and my wife is also retired. We have two grandchildren from our eldest daughter who lives in Connecticut. My mother followed us later that year and moved to Oak Ridge Tn. We ultimately inherited the home this year and want to keep it in the family so we decided to try short term rentals so we could maintain the home properly.

Why they chose this property

When looking for a home here in Tennessee for my mother, her and I looked at dozens of homes all around the Knoxville area so she would be close to my family. We found this cozy home which is a "C" home built for families back in the 40s by the army corps of engineers during the buildup of the Manhattan Project. The home fit her needs perfectly, though it was 30 minutes from our home, she felt comfortable there. The house had many upgrades through the decades from what the original build had been.

What makes this property unique

As mentioned, the home was built for officers and their families during WW2. The home is roughly 1300 square feet and sits up against the greenbelt of Oak Ridge. The home, as well as the area, have a tremendous amount of history. A visit to the Manhattan Project National Museum details this history. I sincerely suggest a visit by all who come to this area.
The home is very special to my family and I, as I mentioned, my mother called this house her home for 21 years until her passing in July of 2026. We decided to offer it for short term rentals because we cannot bring ourselves to selling the property and we do not want someone renting it long term and causing any damage to the home. It is well maintained and we plan on keeping it that way.
The area has so much to offer and share with others and we thought this was the best way of doing that.
