Take the opportunity to visit ancient monuments from Roman times in one of the nearby tourist centers. In nearby Valtura, you can see the remains of the oldest settlement on the peninsula, the former Illyrian capital of Nesactium. Today it is a kind of archaeological park with preserved architectural remains from antiquity and late antiquity. Small villages in the surrounding areas such as Krnica, Rakalj, Kavran, where various events take place in summer, such as fishing festivals, offer an ideal opportunity to get to know local traditions and customs, but also a rich traditional cuisine. In Pula you can see many sights from its long history. In addition to the Roman amphitheater, better known as the Pula Arena, and the well-preserved Temple of Augustus in the Forum, there is also the Dirke Mosaic and the Triumphal Arch of Sergius.
