About this property

Aunt Bea’s Chokoloskee Fishing & Family Getaway

Welcome to Aunt Bea’s, a little piece of Old Florida on Chokoloskee Island.

This clean and comfortable 2-bedroom, 1-bath island home is a great fit for fishermen, families and Everglades adventurers looking for a relaxed place to stay close to local boat ramps, marinas and water access.

The home has an open living and kitchen area, full kitchen with breakfast bar and dining space, comfortable living room with TV, two bedrooms, one full bathroom, washer and dryer, and a screened front porch that’s perfect for winding down after a day on the water.

There is space for boat-trailer parking in front of the property, making Aunt Bea’s especially convenient for guests bringing their own boat. The home is not waterfront and does not have a private dock, but local ramps and marinas are nearby.

One bedroom has a traditional bed setup, while the second bedroom has a trundle bed that works well for children, friends or additional guests.

The screened porch is one of our favorite spots at the house. After a day of fishing, boating, kayaking or exploring the Everglades, come back, toss your clothes in the washer and enjoy a slower island evening.

Aunt Bea’s is more than just the name of the home. The property has been in our family for generations and carries a lot of Chokoloskee history with it. Aunt Bea was a longtime part of island life, worked as the librarian at Everglades City School and was known throughout the community simply as “Aunt Bea.”

This is an older Chokoloskee home with the character and quirks that come with an island property. It is clean, comfortable and well cared for, but it is not a modern luxury resort. We want guests to know exactly what to expect and enjoy Aunt Bea’s for what it is: an authentic piece of Old Florida with deep family roots.

Guests have use of the entire home, screened porch, laundry area and yard during their stay.

Aunt Bea’s is a comfortable home base for fishing, boating, kayaking, wildlife watching and exploring Chokoloskee, Everglades City and the Ten Thousand Islands.

If you’re looking for a relaxed island stay where you can bring the boat trailer, wash your fishing clothes, sit on the porch and experience a little bit of real Chokoloskee history, we’d love to have you.

We’re a local family with deep roots in Chokoloskee and Everglades City. Our family has been part of island life for generations, and we love sharing the Old Florida places, stories and slower way of life that make this area special. Aunt Bea’s is personal to us, and we want guests to feel comfortable, welcome and at home while they’re here.

Why they chose this property

We didn’t really choose the neighborhood, the neighborhood chose us. Our family has been here from the beginning. This property dates back to when this part of the island was mostly avocado trees with little more than a trail running through it. Chokoloskee is quiet, close to the water and full of the Old Florida character our family has always known and loved.

What makes this property unique

Aunt Bea’s is a real Chokoloskee home with deep family roots, not a generic vacation rental. It’s especially comfortable for families, fishermen and guests coming to explore the Everglades, with a screened porch, full kitchen, washer and dryer, open yard and space for a boat trailer. Local boat ramps, marinas, restaurants and island attractions are nearby. What makes Aunt Bea’s special is the history behind it and the chance to stay in an authentic piece of Old Florida.
