About the host
Hosted by Jorge Dardano
Our kids are 4 generation Zonteños, grown up already and living elsewhere but always coming back to where the turtle laid the eggs ( our turtles, the Olive Ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea) turtle, always comes back to lay its eggs at the beach where she was born (called natal homing).
My wife is German and I met her in the USA, we lived here for quite a while during the worst time of the gangs (1998-2008) and finally decided to leave the country to safeguard our offspring. Thanks to the new era El Salvador has entered we and many other "hermanos lejanos" are coming back.
What we like best is introducing and sharing El Zonte and El Salvador to visitors. El Salvador is known for its friendly people and El Zonte for its gorgeous location .

Why they chose this property
Our "Bambú Shack" is nestled in a plaza packed with mango trees. The beach is a 3 minute walk away. The life you will have here is strictly a beach life but with a cool slowly emerging early night life emerging on the other side of the El Zonte river, about a 10 min. walk
We are on the peaceful side of El Zonte, If you want to party you can walk to the other side of the river (about 500 mtrs away) and then come back to relax or sleep in the quiet side of El Zonte.
of
If that wouldn´t be enough a reason to be here, well, we sit on the best beach of 5 beaches in El Zonte. Pardon the arrogance but this is true.
