Weilheim, the county seat located near the Ammer River, is a popular shopping destination with an inviting pedestrian zone in its historic old town and has much to offer. It can be easily reached off the main road via the “Prälaten(Radl)weg.”
A little further away are the churches in Wessobrunn, Rottenbuch, and Steingaden, as well as the Wieskirche and, among other attractions, two significant museums: the Münter House in Murnau and the Franz Marc Museum in Kochel.
Surrounded by beautiful nature reserves, idyllic river landscapes, and pristine marshes, you can relax, hike, or bike. In the summer, beautiful lakes invite you to swim or take a boat ride. Examples include the Thomas Mann Hiking Trail, the Yew Forest, Lake Staffelsee, and Lake Kochelsee.
