Me and some of my girl friends stayed here for a bachelorette weekend!! It was the perfect location for us to earlier drive to the shops and the beach. The house definitely was older and has some miner fixes but nothing crazy! We enjoyed it a lot!!
Thank you for a great stay and amazing communication!

Great location and huge backyard with land and fire pit. Back deck with table was nice. Overall, house was clean but is in desperate need of repairs and an overall paint job. Furniture is dated and needs cleaned. Exterior landscaping on the south side of the property needs attention. Communication with owner was quick and professional.

Bugs crawling through floors
The property manager was very good with communication. However, this property is in major need of repair. I’m surprised it passed safety codes. You can tell there is very very very little TLC put into this place. That’s unfortunate because it’s in a decent location.
We only stayed one night but were supposed to stay four. My children and I were very disappointed in this property. We were unable to sleep because of how terrible the beds ALL were. My son and daughter were up coughing through the night from what I'm guessing was due to the cobwebs and unsanitary conditions. The toilet was disgusting and my kids had tp have their vacation cut short.

Unkempt
We were very disappointed in our cottage… The outside was atrocious. There were weeds everywhere. Everything was grown up against the outside of the cottage. The inside all of the furniture was either broken down or dirty. We felt that we were misguided from the pictures we saw of the cottage on the inside and the out side… We will not be staying there again.
wonderful! everything we needed, and great location! we'll be back!

Disappointing Stay
We booked another home for the week of the 4th, but that owner cancelled and we thought we got lucky finding this place at the rate it was (still expensive, but nothing like other properties). However, I wouldn't stay here again and I wouldn't recommend it to friends.
The pros: It was a bit further from everything than we realized, but we are from Chicago so the walking didn't bother us, and majority of the walk is scenic anyway. The backyard is huge and great for exploring with kids (although be mindful of the poison ivy). Deck is nice to sit on.
The cons: The house sits on a busier road so no front porch/yard hanging out is possible. The home smelled like cigarettes (maybe from prior renters), and in general felt unclean, because it looked unclean. Furniture is old, stained, and uncomfortable to the point of it hurting our backs to sit on. Window units for AC are only in front and back room so the bedrooms got HOT. My kids were up each night drenched in sweat. Luckily, we brought a fan. Our biggest issue was the bugs. It was unreal. Spiders, fruit flies, roaches in the kitchen, and wasps (yes, wasps). All the windows and doors are in dire need of resealing. We did our best to block the gaps and cracks between the frames and doors/windows with pillows but it was an ongoing battle - to the point of my kids (2 and 5) getting upset. We came very close to leaving early because of the bugs but decided to push through. Doors only have door handle locks - they need deadbolts.
As a former hotel maid, I wanted to go on record that this home is completely clean. My favorite part of the property was the peaceful back patio with an enormous sycamore tree and deer scampering by.
This property was a great stay. It is a short distance from downtown, good walkable neighborhood, and friendly neighbors. It house was clean. The owner was very attentive and the check in and check out was easy and convenient.
Unfortunately, our reservation through Vrbo was double-booked, and despite multiple calls and emails, we couldn’t get a response from Vrbo’s customer service. The only ones who stepped up to help were the amazing host family. Scott and Stacy were incredibly kind, responsive, and went above and beyond to assist with our refund. While we didn’t get the chance to stay, the property looks absolutely beautiful, and based on our experience with the hosts, I would highly recommend booking directly with them for any future vacation plans.
We really enjoyed our time at the house and in South Haven. We especially liked the fire pit, proximity to beach and how tidy the cottage was. The garden bed out front and area beneath the deck is pretty overgrown. Loved coffee and drinks on the deck though!
The house is very clean, cute and comfortable. Some touch up painting on the ceiling would go along way, bur just don't look up😉 We enjoyed our stay. Also, make sure to walk the one block for a wonderful overlook of the lake.
