THE DEEP DIVE
All BeachHauses are engineered for simple, easy living. All BeachHauses feature self check-in and check-out. They're stocked with beach toys, beach towels, bath towels, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, olive oil, and cooking-ready kitchens.

The Octopus Hideaway is an easy two-minute walk to the beach. We're not kidding: you may find this little bungalow duplex so charming that it's hard to leave. But the joy lies in its proximity to the beach: two minutes by foot, through a charming neighborhood and without a care in the world. So load up the house wagon with our beach toys and yours if you want, then dip in the ocean and relax into the sand. Come back to this charming spot--our first BeachHaus, but recently updated (end of 2023)--and know that you're in good hands and among friends in North County San Diego.

This is a well-appointed property in a great location. Easy walk to the beach (and all of the beach supplies are there waiting for you!). Beachhaus staff goes above and beyond with their communication and attention to details before, during and after our stay. This property was remodeled 2 years ago and everything is top notch!

We loved staying at the Octopus Hideaway!

They had all of the beach gear we needed and are a quick walk down to the sand. We loved the luscious plants in the backyard and of course the 2 bedrooms. Perfect space for our family of 4!

Beautifully appointed, serene getaway

We have stayed at several BeachHaus rentals, and they are all beautifully appointed places with all the amenities that make vacationing easier for a family with young kids. The Octopus Hideaway is no exception. It is a serene hideaway, tucked in the back of the house and surrounded by lush, tropical landscaping. The beach is a 5-min walk from the house. Not only do Brenda and her team provide everything a busy family would need, from nightlights in the bathrooms to dish and laundry soap pods (fragrance free!), and beach toys, towels, and portable chairs, the team is also super responsive to any inquiries I've ever had. We visit SD at least once/year to see family, and now I book only with BeachHaus, because they really go out of their way to look after us. As a mom of three young kids (and a 4th—my husband LOL), I feel taken care of when I stay at a BeachHaus rental. It's clear that these homes are managed by a busy mom who has thought of everything (with excellent interior design to boot!). This year, our favorite places were all booked, and the team kindly gave me some other options for places that had availability. And now we can add Octopus Hideaway to our list of faves.

We enjoyed our stay at the Octopus Hideaway! We wanted something close to the beach and this was a super close walk! The house is a convenient location to restaurants and shopping. Although we didn't stay long enough to use the kitchen for cooking, it was well stocked. The home was clean and very nicely decorated.

This place was incredible. The yard is beautiful and fully fenced, which was fantastic for our dogs. You’re within a few minutes walk to the dog beach. The house was clean and had everything we needed when we arrived. Super comfy bed and couch. Would absolutely stay here again.

My girlfriend, dog and I loved staying at the Octopus Hideaway. It's very near dog beach and the commercial shops in Del Mar. The property is also private with a fully fenced yard. The house is stocked with all the necessary items to live and cook during the stay. We look forward to coming back in the future.

A Homecoming Week in the Octopus Hideaway

Out-of-state family members spent a wonderful week in the Octopus Hideaway. It provided a great home base to attend our niece's wedding, visit with family, and tour our favorite areas around town when we lived in San Diego and Del Mar. Family members frequented the area beaches and used the boogie boards and laundry machines provided in the rental.
