A great cabin! We loved the privacy but not being too far from so many things. Sleeping Bear Dunes is a very easy drive along with so many beaches. Cabin was great to come back to in the evenings to watch kayakers float by and let the kids wade in the river.

Our family was looking for a cozy cottage for a get-together and this rental was just perfect! Just steps away from the Platte River, but also plenty to do and see nearby. Bill and Holly are excellent hosts and communicators. Already looking at our calendars for a possible return trip!

Had an amazing stay! We saw deer walking the icy Platte River every morning. Cabin was cozy with a beautiful snowy backdrop. Also enjoyed Beulah’s Winterfest, sunsets by the frozen Frankfort Pier, and Northern lights at the mouth of Platte River!

This is a wonderful place to stay. Very nice cabin right on the Platte River. Location was great close to Lake Michigan beaches, a short drive to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. We would stay again if we vacation in that area again.

From booking to check-out, this property was absolutely stellar. The hosts were clear about how to check-in and what to do before check-out. I don't think the property listing can capture how charming and peaceful this cabin is. It's set back from the road so that you'd never know it was on a fairly busy highway. The back door is literally steps away from the river so you hear the water flowing all around you. The cabin is set up for maximum comfort and convenience. Important to note that for a cabin, there is fabulous water pressure in the shower LOL. Plenty of seating inside and outside, comfortable beds, room to spread out or gather together. We found it a great base for our wanderings. 20 minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes, 30 from Glen Arbor, 20 minutes from Frankfort. This is a fantastic starting point for exploring West Michigan.

We live nearby in Elberta, MI. We have 4 children. I retired from The Federal Aviation Administration and my wife works at the local hospital in Frankfort.

Why they chose this property

This is an Up North Destination! We built this cabin in 1996. We chose this location for it's seclusion and proximity to the Platte River. Without any other homes in view, this truly feels private.

What makes this property unique

Relaxing on the deck, listening to the river and watching kayaks and canoes drift by. Not a care in the world. Put your chair in the river and soak your feet. The river is crystal clear with a gravel bottom. Occasionally you will see fish swim by.
