About Shelly Smith
My name is Shelly, I'm a native of Utah, and a Realtor in Orange County, CA. I moved to Southern California almost 23 years ago. About three years after that I discovered Big Bear. Its always been a dream of mine to own property in the area and now with a smile, I can say I do :-)
Shelly Smith purchased this Cottage in 2001
Why Shelly Smith chose Big Bear Lake
I fell in love with Big Bear on a vacation more than 20 years ago. I knew right away I wanted to have a place to call my own out here and now I have a few in Big Bear. I love the area by the lake, its quiet but still close to everything the city has to offer. I hope you get the chance to visit and you find it as enchanting as I do.

We went up to Big Bear for a nice Fall Getaway and wound up in a winter wonderland! There was more than a foot of snow and I was scared we would not be able to get into the cabin. When we arrived and opened the door it was like we had opened the door to Christmas! The cabin is adorable and there was Christmas music playing. It was warm and cozy and inviting! The walk way had been shoveled the next morning and the driveway plowed by the afternoon. We will definitely stay there again, winter or summer!
Thank you for staying, it was a pleasure having you.
This was a great place to crash while we visited Big Bear for an event at Snow Summit. Location was perfect and the cabin was cozy and comfortable. Management was super responsive and very accommodating. Highly recommend!
I really wanted to like this place, because of the location, but it was way overpriced.
It looks like is a good price until you are checking out and forced to buy insurance. That bumped up the price significantly.
The kitchen is outdated, cabinet drawer falling out. Dishes and utensils old.
The tv is just placed over the cable box, not even on its feet, just waiting to be knocked over.
Pet hair everywhere, my son sat on the floor and got covered in it.
You have to drive your trash somewhere, else you will be charged 10$ a bag.
So sorry you weren't happy with the property. We always try to make it very comfortable and a great experience for our guests. I would have been happy to relocate you or address any issue you had, had you notified me. Lastly, our nightly is under the market rate for the area and location.
This cozy cottage was prefect for my wife and me, along with our small dog. It was within walking distance to the boat tour pier, the quaint village, and minutes to the lake. It was stocked with all of the necessary items and had a brand new gas grill.
We highly recommend it.
Cute and well stocked cabin
The cabin is really tiny but the thought and love put into the place really made the experience all worth it. The cabin surprised me by going the extra mile and providing a fully stocked kitchen. Usually when staying at a cabin I either choose to go without seasonings or splurging on things but this place came with all sorts great amenities. I will definitely be back!
Great little place
This little cottage was great. It worked well for the 2 of us. The rustic bear decor was perfect. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the snow.
Located next to the Lake....Perfect for watching a Firework Show on the Fourth of July or maybe some B-B-Q and a stroll by the Lake on Memorial Weekend. How about some great Beer and Food at the Annual Big Bear Oktoberfest or maybe an afternoon on the slopes skiing and then a walk down the Village for all the Christmas Lights/Shopping. No matter the time of year something is happening in Big Bear.
