The Giardino del Convento holiday home is located in an Italian, car-free alley on the hillside of the historic center of Domaso on the western shore of Lake Como.
Through a rustic wooden door you enter the entrance terrace of what was once a large monastery garden, now private.
From here you have direct access to your holiday home and to the large, level garden.
The garden is enclosed by a historic wall. Lovingly designed and rich in plants and trees, it offers pleasant natural shade in summer. Several outdoor areas invite you to relax, play, and linger, providing ample space for rest and recreation.
Outdoor amenities include an outdoor pool with wooden deck, several terraces, small dining tables with chairs, sun loungers in the garden, a built-in corner seating area, another seating area with table and chairs along the house wall, hammocks between palm trees, and a private terrace. An uninhabited natural-stone rustico is also part of the garden.
From the kitchen and the bedroom you have access to a narrow balcony overlooking the quiet inner courtyard.
Attached to your holiday home is another part of the building, which is occasionally used privately by the friendly and discreet owner, Francisca, who values privacy and ensures a peaceful stay for guests.
From the terrace you enter the hallway, from which all rooms are accessible. Straight ahead is the bright and cozy eat-in kitchen with kitchenette, dining table, and sofa, which can be used as a single bed if required. From here you also have access to the balcony overlooking the quiet inner courtyard. Adjacent is the main bedroom with double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, and a baby cot, also with access to the balcony. To the side is the living room with TV and double sofa bed, ideal for relaxing.
The bathroom is equipped with washbasin, WC, bidet, shower bathtub, and washing machine. The hallway and bathroom feature Lombard stone flooring, while the living areas have parquet floors. The apartment is bright and comfortably furnished, combining modern elements with partly Lombard wooden furniture, creating a welcoming atmosphere for restful stays.
The holiday home is located on the grounds of the former Augustinian Convent of the Most Holy Annunciation in Domaso, founded in 1651. Part of today’s garden once belonged to the convent garden, where the sisters grew vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Over the centuries, the convent shaped the life of the region and preserved a long tradition of spiritual and cultural history. Today, the garden, with its tranquil atmosphere, invites you to enjoy a piece of this historic serenity.
The location and the rustic, lush garden make this property a true haven of relaxation. The lake and beaches, the lakeside promenade, restaurants, and shopping facilities are all easily reachable on foot or by bicycle.
The warm and courteous landlady partially uses the garden herself, but does so very discreetly and always ensures that guests are not disturbed.
The house is located about 100 m from a small piazza with public parking spaces. Additional public parking is available nearby.
Charging electric cars at the property is not possible. The nearest public EV charging station is about 500 m away.
