About this property
Centrally located close to downtown with a view of the Chugach mountains.
The house is nestled on a quiet, u-shaped road, across from a park with a stunning view of the Chugach range from the dining room table.
The house is located 2.5 miles from downtown with a straight shot on the Glenn Hwy. Downtown has the 5th Avenue mall and many quaint, souvenir stores, the museum, Performing Arts Center and many restaurants. Five minutes away is the Northway mall and Tikahtnu center which has a movie theater, Kohl's, Target, Best Buy and several restaurants.
The house has 4 bedrooms total and 3.5 bathrooms. Three bedrooms in the house, 1 room with a king bed and other two rooms with queen beds, a dresser, and a TV. The fourth room is a detached guest room with a king bed and a queen bed, microwave, small refrigerator, and a flat screen TV. It is about 10 steps outside, to access a full bathroom inside the house. The outside room is great for the kids to hang out and play in. You can lock the gate to the backyard and not worry. There is another door to enter the house through the carport, so if other adults choose that room they don’t have to come through the 3rd bedroom.
There is a carport for one car and the driveway will hold two cars side by side. Street parking as well.
The BBQ and patio furniture are at the edge of the carport to enjoy the summer sun. The backyard has lush green grass. There is a pub table and 6 chairs for outside.

About the host
Hosted by Jan Durrington
I moved up to Alaska in 1991 with $80, a credit card and a round trip ticket. I found a job on the second day and have never left. I love to ride my PWC out in the ocean, and fish, shrimp and explore the beautiful surroundings of Alaska.
In 2014, I decided to open up my house to the many visitors from the lower 48 to give them the opportunity to see Alaska as I have.

Why they chose this property
It is in the perfect location for visitors. It is easy access downtown, and both highways to get out of town to explore the wilderness side of Alaska.
What makes this property unique
The guest room is detached from the house in the backyard. So if someone has a baby that doesn't sleep at night, or a night owl in the family, they can sleep in that room. This way they won't wake everyone up and won't worry about watching tv at all hours of the night. Plus they can sleep in if needed too.
