Excellent communication with the owner and loved the comfortable space. The rental had everything you needed for a comfortable space for all in our group. Would stay again and would definitely recommend staying here.
We had a fabulous time. This house is perfect for two families. Communication was proactive and thorough. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Anchorage.

Thank you so much! You have a lovely family and I am excited for all the trips you have planned exploring Alaska. It was a pleasure having you stay. Thanks again.
First time in Alaska. All of us enjoyed our stay. Good central point to see sightseeing location. One of the beds was a bit uncomfortable for my older sister and brother in law. But no real issues at all. Wi-Fi worked well. Thanks soMuch.
We loved this place!! The host was great at communicating and quick to answer questions. In addition, they shared local things to do. The house was just as pictured and described, was clean, and had plenty of room. There is also a park across the street if you have young children. We would definitely stay again.
I am a travel agent and I booked this for 4 couples for 2 night in Anchorage after a 7 night cruise. They loved the house and the location. They enjoyed the house so much they stayed at the house the whole time before they left for Denali and Fairbanks.

Fantastic! I love to hear that guests are comfortable hanging out. Some guests are so busy sight seeing, they say we just slept there. The house was so clean I thought that was the case. They were very nice and kept me informed on checking in and out. They were the perfect guests.
Our family met in Anchorage to explore and spend time together. Great location minutes from downtown, across from a park. Plenty of parking. Well stocked with all the essentials. Great communication.
This place is perfect for a large family, or groups of friends. Plenty of bathrooms and beds. We loved how at home it felt! Communication was clear and timely. 100% would recommend.
Seven adults and 1 teen stayed in cute, well maintained, well stocked and very clean home. Comfortable beds, 3 full baths and 1/2 bath made getting out daily easy. Lots of linens. Everything needed for comfy stay was provided. Loved that all 8 could sit at table together!! Always plenty of hot water for showers.
Guests in side house do have to come to main house for facilities but this was expected.
The back door didn't lock from the inside so no one wanted to use that back bathroom. We DID use it a little but not as much as we would have if the door could be locked somehow. It also wasn't as close to eating and stores as we expected. But it was a very nice place to use as home and we enjoyed the stay. Owners were very pleasant and super helpful.

My apologies, I fixed this immediately after you left when I saw the post it note. I even sent you a picture. Between the Tikahtnu Center and downtown there are about 15 restaurants that are within 9-13 minutes away. Thank you for staying.
My parents, husband and I with our two kids, plus my sister and her husband all stayed and it was perfect! The host was easy to reach with questions and so helpful. She even gave lists of things to do in the area. Highly recommend!

Nice house, but weird set up
The house is nice and clean. Jan was great. The house plans are kinda weird. The 3rd bedroom is in a shed. To get to the shed, you have to go to a bedroom where someone sleeps, go in to one of the bathrooms, and exit the house from the bathroom across some stones in the backyard…. The bedroom that you have to walk through also has 2 bathrooms in it….
But it was nice, and luckily the person we had staying in the shed and in the bedroom were comfortable with one another

Thank you so much for the review. The back bedroom was originally updated as a bonus room for kids to be able to play in and also play in the backyard with the gate securely closed. So my notes in the book didn’t include that the outside guests should use the carport entrance into the house instead of going through that bedroom. It is approximately another 20 feet from the other door. Thanks again.
The best VRBO experience yet! Jan was very accommodating and helpful with everything! The house actually looked BETTER than the pictures if you asked me! Will definitely be staying here again when we return to Anchorage ❤️
Jan was such an amazing host. We loved the property! The kids played in the "clubhouse" in the backyard. We would return just for this place for them to go and play! Jan provided toys and was so accommodating in helping us come up with things to do in the area. We had a great trip!
Our group enjoyed this home. It was nice for each couple to have there on bathroom and space. We are parents on vacation to watch our sons play baseball in Alaska! This home was appreciated during our stay in Anchorage.

About the host
Hosted by Jan Durrington
I moved up to Alaska in 1991 with $80, a credit card and a round trip ticket. I found a job on the second day and have never left. I love to ride my PWC out in the ocean, and fish, shrimp and explore the beautiful surroundings of Alaska.
In 2014, I decided to open up my house to the many visitors from the lower 48 to give them the opportunity to see Alaska as I have.
Why they chose this property
It is in the perfect location for visitors. It is easy access downtown, and both highways to get out of town to explore the wilderness side of Alaska.
What makes this property unique
The guest room is detached from the house in the backyard. So if someone has a baby that doesn't sleep at night, or a night owl in the family, they can sleep in that room. This way they won't wake everyone up and won't worry about watching tv at all hours of the night. Plus they can sleep in if needed too.
