About this property

Lovely Duplex In XVI Century Coyoacan

Tastefully equipped duplex with Mexican art and high end furniture in one of Mexico city's most beautiful areas. Extremely well served by public transportation and taxi stands, Metro nearby.

Walking distance to all the restaurants, cafes, galleries, boutiques, bookstores and theaters of Coyoacan historical center, to its market, to Frida Kahlo´s and Trotsky´s houses that are now museums, H. Cortes' palace, etc.

There are several delis, wine shops, a very large supermarket, and a green market in the neighborhood.

Parks, lovely plazas and Coyoacan's famous 'Viveros', a 39 hectares park where it is possible to exercise and jog every morning on its 2 mile running track.

The duplex has a fully equipped *recently renovated* kitchen, microwave, coffee maker, dish washer, oven, stove, 2 bedrooms (king and twins), 2 Plasma TV's, WiFi; bathroom, independent patio, outdoor grill, laundry room with washer and dryer. Also, a baby crib is available upon request.

Coyoacan is a very quiet and charming district of Mexico City, with lots of trees, colonial houses and pretty alleys; a very pleasant place to walk and enjoy Mexico's great climate. No wonder it is where conquistador Hernan Cortes established his first residence.

Amazing Home
We were incredibly happy with our three-week stay at Sofía's home in Coyoacán. We were two adults, a toddler, and a baby. It is probably my favorite short-term rental that I've ever stayed in. The house has been in their family for generations, and it shows in its beautiful art, quality furniture, and well-maintained condition. We've stayed in short-term rentals where it seems like the owners cut every cost possible, choosing the cheapest furniture and kitchen items they could. Not the case here by any means. We cooked a lot and appreciated the fact that the kitchen was well-stocked with what we needed. They had a garrafón set up with a dispenser, and made replacements available to us on-site (for a small fee) which was super convenient for drinking water. Sofía, her family members, and others that reached out or helped us with things during our stay made us feel super welcome and cared for. Even when our daughter damaged something in the house, they were very understanding and prioritized their concern for her over the item. In contrast to some places we've stayed in other parts of CDMX, this house in Coyoacán is peaceful. We enjoyed quiet meals in the courtyard on almost a daily basis. The location is awesome, within a short walk to a huge supermarket, many cafés, and restaurants. Probably a 15 minute walk to the Centro de Coyoacán. In short, we loved our time there and hope we get to return one day. Stay there if you can, you won't regret it.

Fantastic! Highly recommend
My husband and I stayed at this wonderful apartment for a week. The hostess simply could not have been more helpful and offered us many tips and recommendations. And the location is excellent! It's a quiet, yet still lively, part of the city that is absolutely gorgeous. Within easy walking distance are groceries, wine store, lovely cafes, good restaurants, street food, parks and transit. I would 100% stay here again.

About the host

Host profile image
I was born and raised here in Mexico City and I have lived in Coyoacán my whole life. Right now, i'm an Art History student at a university in the city. I am completely fluent in English and Spanish but I also speak French quite well.

Why they chose this property

My parents inherited the property from my grandfather. They began their married life and started a family here. I am very fond of it.

What makes this property unique

It is a specially quiet and well located property in one of the nicest areas of Coyoacan, where Mexican golden era movie stars used to live. Actually, the name of the street is Dulce (sweet) Olivia, in honor of Olivia de Havilland.
