About this property
3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom End House overlooking the pool
This 3 bedroom house is ideally located, some 25min drive from Murcia International airport or 60 min from Alicante. A short stroll takes you either to the calm waters of the Mar Menor, with its safe bathing, especially good for those with children or to a wide variety of restaurants and shops. The property is set on a corner plot, overlooking the pool and comes with air conditioning in the main lounge and both upstairs bedrooms, which have their own balcony. All rooms also have ceiling fans. There is a roof solarium with a large sun canopy, ideal for sheltered sunbathing and a private front terrace and garden with tables and chairs. The property sits in a secure, gated residential community, where there is a large pool with a separate shallow area for younger children.
This is our family home in Spain, so is furnished to a high standard in a traditional spanish style with all those little bits and pieces that make a 'home'.
El Divino Community: Our house is part of the El Divino residential development, which is a mixed community, where some owners have made it their full time home and therefore live there for 12 months of the year. Other properties, such as ours, are occupied by the owners at certain times during the year, but are also made available for rental, when we are not in residence. Our community does have a few guidelines on how we would like all residents and rental guests to behave and a copy of these will be sent to you, when you book. We would ask all of those who use our house to please follow these community guidelines - there is nothing ridiculous in them, but they have been agreed to by all of the owners (including ourselves) to ensure that everyone can enjoy use of the community and its pool facilities whilst maintaining a sensible and family friendly atmosphere. Our is not a holiday development, but one where you are able to enjoy all of the benefits that our community provides. In particular, please note that the pool closes at 10pm and that no diving or jumping into the pool is allowed. Security staff will be on duty during the months of July & August, for your safety. There are boards by the pool explaining what you are not allowed to do, for your own safety and that of your family and friends.
We thank you all for taking time to familiarize yourselves with the community guidelines when we send these to you.
What to do, where to eat etc: Those of you who have been to the med before will know that jelly fish can be a problem - but not on the Mar Menor. Here the beaches are protected by nets, providing a warm, safe and jelly fish free environment in which to swim. The beaches shelve gently into the water creating a calm shallow sea, not only to cool off in, but a safe environment for children.
There is so much to do and see in the area, with a wide variety of restaurants available in walking distance from the house, catering for all tastes and types of cuisine. There are also a number of beach side bars, where you can relax with a beer or coffee, have a light snack or some local tapas. And most have recliners and shady grass umbrellas that you can hire for a small daily charge.
There is a beachside promenade that runs for approximately 3 miles, where you can walk to the "old town", which is colourful and vibrant at many times of the year. An excellent place for an evening meal is the Encarnacion restaurant, who also do an excellent breakfast, sitting on their terrace, looking out over the Mar Menor. Or stay more local and explore the many restaurants along the "strip" by the 525 Hotel. Our favourite is El Patio II, which is 3 minutes walk from the house.
For those who wish to travel further afield, there are buses that run to Cartegena and Murcia, both towns that are well worth exploring.
And if you are golfers, there are a number of courses in the area to choose from. Tennis players will find public courts less than 15 minutes from our house.
Other Information: we do have an information folder in the house, where we keep details on interesting restaurants that we have found, places to visit etc. Please do add anything to it that you think might be on interest to other holiday makers.
Murcia International airport is 45 minutes away and is served by many of the budget airlines, including Ryanair from various UK locations.
Our house offers excellent value accommodation in an area where the sun does shine most of the year !! (not quite like the UK).
If we can help you at any time with further information, please do get in touch.

About the host
Hosted by Stephen & Kim Welch

We purchased our house, off plan, in 1999 and moved into the property in 2000, when it was completed. We have 4 children and have had many enjoyable holidays over the years, but with our children now growing up, we decided to offer our house for rental during those periods when we would not be in residence. As it is still our holiday home in spain, we hope that you will find it to your liking and that we offer you all of those little extra things that you would find in your own home.
Why they chose this property
We decided to buy in Los Alcazares as we liked the area and the local town, which still maintains a very spanish feel to it and is a very popular holiday location with spanish families, who come to the coast from Murcia and Madrid. We also liked the location of our development, being a short distance from both shops, restaurants and the beach and that the Mar Menor is quite unique and offers very safe bathing for adults and children. It is also warmer than the Med ! We have now been coming back for over 22 years and enjoy it every time, though we have seen many changes. We hope that in years to come, we may be able to spend more time in our house and use it as a base, once we retire.
What makes this property unique
Our house is situated on a secure residential community, with beautiful communal gardens and an excellent pool for all to enjoy. We have one of the best locations on the development, being a corner property facing directly onto the pool. The house has 2 floors plus a roof solarium and has 3 balcony areas, where you can sit out and relax in the sunshine or enjoy a bit of shade !
We are also conveniently located, with the nearest shops and restaurants some 5 minutes walk away and the nearest beach, on the Mar Menor, less than 10 minutes away.
