About Lisa Anderson
Two of my big loves in life are being in nature and dancing. Rivers, creeks, lakes, the ocean. Hiking, biking, strolling, snow shoeing. Camping. As to dancing, my current obsession is West Coast Swing after a few years of being a ballroom dance devotee. I also love my home. I moved into this one in June 2013 and have been making it the simple yet elegant home it was meant to be. Then there is the dog. Lucy I adopted a few years ago. She is a small red and white Border Collie or something like that. She loves people and is quite wary of other dogs (so NO PETS, please). Deep conversation, creativity, spirituality, gardening, good belly laughs all feed me immensely. I love my work as a career and life coach. I have been doing this business since 2004. It is such a rewarding way to be of service: helping others know and express their true calling and create what they want in their lives both personally and professionally. I have lived in Colombia, South America--at the height of the Civil War--and taught English there for the British Council. I've done home stays with several families in Guatemala as part of a language immersion school. This was my mid-life crisis reinvention time. When I travel I prefer to stay with people I know. I get to experience the culture first hand, not as a tourist. I hope that I may help you enjoy your stay in Eugene more deeply.
Lisa Anderson purchased this House in 2013
Why Lisa Anderson chose Eugene
I have been in Eugene for since 1977. I lived in a sweet little bungalow home that I transformed over the course of 20 years. But it was starting to feel cramped. So I started looking. And looking. And looking. I just wasn't finding anything out there. I was on all the sites multiples times a day. Then I saw something on Zillow in a category called 'Make Me Move' with one very dark photo of the kitchen. I drove by and liked what I saw and contacted the owner. And contacted. And contacted. He finally got back to me and it was definitely love at first site. The place was a bit of pig sty when I first saw it but I could see all the potential here. So like Michelangelo I have been sculpting and just removing what doesn't belong here to let let what does shine through.
What makes this House unique
If you don't need an entire house nor want the impersonal nature of a hotel and are way past staying at youth hostels this is the place to be. Staying with locals is one of the best to get to know a place. My favorite feature when I first saw this house was the hallway. Yup, the hallway. It wraps around the covered patio with huge windows pulling you outside. I also loved that this wasn't a box shaped house. There are a few angles that are just enough off 90 degrees to catch your attention.

Great room, wonderful host and a great neighborhood (we should know). Thanks Lisa!
Looking for a forever home in the Eugene area.
My husband and I enjoyed staying at Lisa's place while we looked for potential places in the area to retire. We recommend the Sunrise room and most likely will return. Thanks Lisa and Lucy.
Peaceful and quiet
Lovely home in a beautiful neighborhood. Lisa was a great host, just the right amount of interaction and great coffee. Our days were activity filled, but I wish we had more time to relax in her gardens.
Clean and tastefully decorated room/home in a nice and quiet neighborhood
This is my second time staying with Lisa. She welcomed me back and checked in throughout my stay appropriately. The room has just the right amount of furniture, an extremely comfortable bed and wrap around windows facing the peaceful street. My favorite part again was the beautiful, attended garden with a large table and comfy chairs to sew and read. The bathroom is through a hallway and kitchen nook and quite small. Even as a small person I had trouble moving around the shower to get the basics done in there. This will be fine for me during future stays (which I plan on) but possibly challenging for others. Lisa does mention the bathroom size in her description. The house is near decent shopping and food options and a short drive to downtown and the campus. I look forward to coming back.
Wonderful room...great host
Lisa was a wonderful hostess.
