Lilybank is a traditional detached cottage found in a quiet corner of Fort Augustus, a popular and picturesque village at the south end of Loch Ness. It boasts lovely views across the River Oich and out into Loch Ness yet is only a 5 minute walk from the centre of the village with all its pubs, hotels, cafes and restaurants. About the host
Hosted by Lucy Phipps
My grandparents purchased Lilybank back in 1968, after years of holidaying in Scotland and falling in love with the area. It has given four generations of my family great memories of holidays in one of the most beautiful corners of the world. Three of us even claim to have caught sight of that illusive monster during those years! I took over the management of the cottage two years ago and have enjoyed updating Lilybank as a holiday home for today's holiday maker.
Why they chose this property
Lilybank has been a much loved family holiday home for over 50 years. It is a special place in a wonderful location. The house feels cosy but spacious and has recently been updated with new kitchen and bathrooms. It is a place for building memories with wonderful day trips out or days just sitting in the garden, perhaps even braving a dip in the loch or river. Rainy days at Lilybank can be spent in front of the woodburner, playing board games or getting stuck into a good book (there are plenty to choose from in the house). Find a different walk everyday in the stunning countryside, have a meal at a local pub (the Loch Inn has an amazing number of Whiskies to try), dip your toes (or more if you're feeling really brave) in the lochs and rivers and generally soak up the marvellous and majestic highland scenery.
What makes this property unique
Quiet, village location with excellent local amenities. Comfortable and well equipped house, in a peaceful spot with lovely river and loch views.
