There is also plenty of entertainment and fun for the younger generation.

During your stay in this area with a rich fishing tradition discover the delights of homemade dishes - crab salad, black risotto or broetto, fish antipasti, pastas and precious black truffle. Beaches:
Sandy beach Bjeka in Medulin.
Sandy beach on nearby island of Levan
Many wild beaches along the coast, along the peninsula of Kamenjak (Premantura), Monte Kop or around Lishnjan.
Outdoor sports: The weather is pleasant all year round, and warm enough to sunbathe on the beach from April until end of October. Bird watching is fantastic. In winter Medulin is ideal for outdoor sports, like walking, playing golf, biking or horse riding. The many small islands of the Medulin archipelago - Ceja, Levan or Bodulaš are beautiful and unspoilt, like much of the coastline. You can go fishing with the local fishermen or go diving into the crystal waters. Perhaps you would like to see it all from above? Then choose a panoramic flight from Medulin's airfield. Don't miss the old windmills by the sea, or an unforgettable walk to the Medulin pond with ducks. The archaeological site Vižule located opposite the apartment across the bay has ruins of several large Roman villas buried between the sea and shady, quiet woodland, and the ancient walls of the villas by the sea offer lovely private corners for sunbathing undisturbed.

About the host
Hosted by Roberta Bonometti

British Italian family with three children living in London who love the sea.
Why they chose this property
We love Istria for its old-time charm, beautiful sea and gorgeous food and people. We have been going there for many years as have several of my friends and family. We were looking at buying a property and we acquired the apartment as soon as the law allowed non-Croatian citizens to do so. It has been our dream all along to have a place overlooking the sea by the waterfront. I grew up spending my summers on the beach across the border in Italy where the family still has a home so this part of Croatia, a home from home, was a natural choice, since it is less built up and less crowded. You cannot find properties in Italy in such wonderful locations any more.
We liked Rovinj at first for its ancient houses on a hilltop, but when we saw this apartment, with breathtaking views, a very high standard of build and finish for Croatia, and the convenience of a car parking pace in front, we knew this was the best.

What makes this property unique
The location. Prime sea view, overlooking the Mediterranean and a Pine wood where the large villa of a Roman emperor lies. If it was fit of an emperor it must be a good place. There is no beach in front of the property, which makes it quiet, but you can be out of the door and swimming right away from the shore and this is what we like. You just need some rock shoes.
Medulin is a charming village, laid back with a lovely Friday night market where local growers sell essential oils, including a very special lavender oil and Marigold oil, other local produce such as olives, truffles, cheese, grilled fish... In short, it is still a living village which is what we like.
May be one day we will go and live there so we will be able to enjoy the good life and the sunsets all the time. Pula, a charming, bustling city, is nearby, just 10 minutes away by car, with its airport, a Colosseum, shopping centres and all the amenities a city has to offer, l so a good place altogether.
