Medulin is a sleepy fishing village of Roman origins that gets busy in the summer, with shops, bars & restaurants. Pula is 10 mins drive, steeped in antiquity, with Roman temples and the largest amphitheatre outside Rome. On the southern-most part of the Istrian Peninsula, Medulin enjoys mild winters and warm summers, clean sea and bathing from early May up to October. The Medulin bay stretches for 42 km with many sandy and rocky coves and 9 islets of the Medulin archipelago. The area is hilly with Mediterranenan pine forests. Within easy driving distance are many ancient Venetian towns and Roman sites including Umag, Porec, Vsar and Rovinj and the mountain-top villages of Buje, Motovun, Buzet, Vodjan, Labin. The fantastic Brijuni Islands are a 10 min feery ride. Opatija to the north is a stunning example of Augsbourg architecture. The nearby Premantura natural park has pristine coves. Venice can be reached by hydrofoil. Amazing views from panoramic flights from the local airport
Other Activities: leasure flights
Golf: A golf course is a couple of miles away in Liznjan. Another golf course is available in nearby Brioni.

Why Roberta Bonometti chose Medulin
We love Istria for its old-time charm, beautiful sea and gorgeous food and people. We have been going there for many years as have several of my friends and family. We were looking at buying a property and we acquired the apartment as soon as the law allowed non-Croatian citizens to do so. It has been our dream all along to have a place overlooking the sea by the waterfront. I grew up spending my summers on the beach across the border in Italy where the family still has a home so this part of Croatia, a home from home, was a natural choice, since it is less built up and less crowded. You cannot find properties in Italy in such wonderful locations any more. We liked Rovinj at first for its ancient houses on a hilltop, but when we saw this apartment, with breathtaking views, a very high standard of build and finish for Croatia, and the convenience of a car parking pace in front, we knew this was the best.
What makes this apartment unique
The location. Prime sea view, overlooking the Mediterranean and a Pine wood where the large villa of a Roman emperor lies. If it was fit of an emperor it must be a good place. You can be out of the door and swimming right away and this is what we like. Medulin is a charming village, laid back with a lovely Friday night market where local growers sell essential oils, including a very special lavender oil and Marigold oil, other local produce such as olives, truffles, cheese, grilled fish... Ah, and at the top of the village there is also a jewellery which has been in the family for generations, and they still make some unique pieces themselves. When I wear such special things, they become immediately topics of conversation wherever I go. Not to mention the butcher and the bakers...In short, it is still a living village with no fancy boutiques, which is what we like, not just for tourists. May be one day we will go and live there so we will be able to enjoy the good life and the sunsets all the time. Pula, a charming, bustling city, is nearby, just 10 minutes away by car, with its airport, a Colosseum, shopping centres and all the amenities a city has to offer, l so a good place altogether.
