Villa (12p), big pool, AC, beautiful view on the Canigou mountain. 2 families ok

Located in a charming medieval village 12km from the Mediterranean and at the foot of the Pyrenees, the spacious house (300m 2) is surrounded by terraces. The main one, equipped with a barbecue, has a breathtaking view of the Canigou massif. At sunset, the orange skies will make your best holiday photos! Every night, the show is different and flamboyant.

Enjoy the pool in complete privacy and without the care of maintenance. Indeed, the pool of 64 m2 (11.6 x5.5m) has no vis-à-vis. With its small and deep section, it gives many possibilities of games to children and adults. It is protected by an electric shutter and maintained by a professional.
Around the pool, we have set up a terrace under the trees that provides you with a pleasant sun.

All around the house, the garden (not fenced) is flowery and private. There is a way to hang a hammock and play "pétanque" or ping pong. Even when there are many, everyone can find in the villa what suits him: shade or sun, animation of the pool or tranquility.

This villa is since its construction in 1982, a multigenerational family house regularly maintained and renovated.

Inside you will find a large bright living/dining room with several French windows. It is illuminated by the sun from morning (east side) until evening (west side).
Around the big table, we play, read, talk, write or work (wifi).

The kitchen renovated in 2022 is very convenient and friendly. It is well organized and equipped (oven, microwave, washing machine, fridge, freezer, toaster, mixer, kettle, etc.). Being located near the entrance and also in direct contact with the covered terrace and the bbq, it is really the hotspot of the house. From the front door, it is quick and easy to unload the food for storage. It has a large work surface to prepare food and a bar where we gather for an aperitif. Thanks to its "pass-dish" window towards the covered terrace, those who cook always stay in contact with the group. In the cupboards, there are enough utensils, dishes and pans to cook your summer recipes. On the covered terrace, the bbq is essential and practical for all your grills. And if you can’t find enough space in the fridge for all your drinks, there is a second one in the garage for the rest.

The house has 5 beautiful bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and/ or shower recently renovated and 4 wc. It has a configuration that allows to accommodate a multi-generational family or 2 or even 3 families.

The 3 bedrooms on the ground floor overlook directly on the terraces through their French doors. It is very nice to be able to enter and leave his room without disturbing anyone and if you want, discreetly take a dip in the pool.

The master bedroom is a very beautiful and spacious room (bed 180cm) which access is from the living room. It overlooks a quiet terrace (east orientation) where it is nice to read away from the noise and animation of the villa. It has its own sddouche, its sink and wc. For people with little mobility, this room is comfortable and perfectly adapted.

The other two ground floor bedrooms are at the other end of the house. One bedroom has a double bed (160cm) and the other has two single beds. Access to the first one is either from the outside by the 2 French doors, or through the adjacent room. These 2 bedrooms each have a washbasin in the room and share a shower room (Italian shower and toilet).

Upstairs, there is a room for a couple (bed 180cm) and a dorm room. These two rooms have each their own sink. They share a large bathroom and shower. The toilet on the floor is separate from the bathroom.

The laundry room and the extra fridge are in the garage.

The house built in the Catalan tradition is naturally well ventilated. All windows have shutters to be protected from heat and light. Air conditioning has been installed in the master suite on the ground floor and in the 2 bedrooms upstairs. The house also has several fans for maximum comfort.

All seasons have their charm in Montesquieu. The house is comfortable throughout the year. The wood stove gives a good heat in the living room. The rooms are equipped with independent electric heaters. The beds have downs.
As a reminder, on the ground floor, access to one of the bedrooms is either from the outside through the windows or through the adjacent room. This can be a disadvantage in case of havy rain.
In general, the late season and even winter are not particularly cold in Montesquieu and it has often happened to have lunch outside in the sun on the covered terrace during the Christmas period. With the wood fire of the bbq, it is really delicious to stay warm and sheltered.

Disabled people are welcome. The car can stop at the front door (half a step to the threshold). Access is easy to the ground floor spaces, including the large master bedroom which is located next to the living room. This room has a private shower room (WC, sink and walk-in shower) which is very spacious.
One must go down 6 steps to access the pool.

The A9 motorway is 10 minutes from the villa (exit Le Boulou). By plane, the national or international airports of Perpignan, Carcassonne, Girona or Barcelona are not far away. The TGV arrives in Perpignan. On site, it is strongly advised to have a vehicle for shopping and excursions.

The region is inexhaustible in cultural, gastronomic, wine and sports opportunities, especially: tennis in the village, horse riding, hiking, mountain biking and all aquatic and mountain activities. In 20 minutes you are already in Spain with the possibility to visit the DALI Museum in Figueras, spend the day in Barcelona or the charming village of Cadaces. The area is known for its remains of the Romanesque era with many small churches, cloisters and abbeys. The excursions to the abbey of Saint Martin du Canigou and Frondfroide are exceptional. Villefranche, Céret, Collioure, Perpignan, Carcassonne, the Cathar castles, there is really something for everyone in this beautiful region.
Since Covid, it is better to buy tickets in advance by internet, even in low season.

For those who prefer the atmosphere of local markets, there are some nearby every day of the week. In the library of the villa, you will find tourist books, maps, references, tips and local contacts to spend a wonderful stay.

On site, you will be greeted upon arrival by a trusted person who knows the house perfectly and who will be at your disposal throughout your stay.
The pool is maintained from May 1st to October 15th.
