BUDAPEST DOWNTOWN HOME RESTAURANT and GUIDED PRIVATE BUDAPEST and VILLAGE TOURS

We like you to invitate in our home restaurant in heart of Budapest , a step from National Opera House . We , Jozsef and I , Janos the owners are running a restaurant in our home , till 2024 we only offered this only for our guests who stayed in our vacation apartments as a guest but from 2025 we have decided to welcome anybody who likes to enjoy our home made dinner , service and care who interested to be part of an intim , friendly evening with conversation , exchanging viewpoints with us and other guests who may spend the evening with us ..

What to expect ...

There are 2 option generally , first when I take guests around the city to share the hidden beauty of my hometown , not only see monuments but more to show day to day life , discuss economy , freedom , life in Hungary , life in communism , visit Great Market ,a drink in a famous ruin bar
and arriving together around 6.30 - 7 pm when Jozsef will prepared our home restaurant experince .

Other option when guests do not take tours with me but arrives 6.30 pm - 7 pm for dinner .

The experience start with welcome drink , a local spirit , palinka when we get to know each other a little .
The dinner start 7 pm . It is a 4 course dinner and usually we like to decide a day before or the morning of the dinner what we cook depend on what vegetables , fruits , meets get our attention at the farmers market .

We can say many times we cook child sour cherry , berries , redwine plum soup , beef gulyas soup with handmade csipetke .
Cryspy duck legs with steam redcabbage , hungarian potatoes , redwine berries , chicken paprikas with hamdmade nudles , garlic cucumber salad ,
pasta with spicy cabbage stew comes with rose duck brest and rosemarry honey apple rings later sour cherry or plum pie , cottagecheese lemon balls coverd fried cineman breadcrumbs with redforrest fruits or sesonal ...

Each meal comes with our wine selecion , local wines which not only the vynards located in Hungary but some of the wine made by grapes only grows in Hungary .

During the dinner which we serve Jozsef and I we like to talk about the meals and wines , share the local gastronomy stories .
When we stoped to serve dinner we open to sit with our guests in the living room where we have comfy sofas , armchairs and with a glass of wine open conversation about life , history , economy , life in Hungary .

Jozsef and I are open minded and experienced to welcome different people in our home . I worked 4 years for Royal Caribbiean Cruises as a waiter , later in Budapest in the Mariott Hotel as a waiter .
I speak good english and not too bad spanish beside hungarian .

Jozsef artist and an amazing cook , all his knowledge comes from east hungarian countryside where he grew up and his mother is a great teacher ..

The start and say goodbye hour is not written in stone , normally we start 6.30 - 7 pm and let our guests to walk home 9.30 - 10 pm , often depends on us , you and us .

If someone has alergy or sensitive or vegetarian we may not able to serve the right meals and we ask you kindly to discuss us before booking .

We can welcome min 2 guests maximum 8 guests , the lenguage of the conversation is english expect if everyone speaks hungarian or spanish .

This side system is based on booking an apartment so we ask you to send an request with a short introduce what you think is a help for us to understand what is your expectation , even we open to talk on other channels before we meet so we can answer your questions ..

After we confirmed back to you which day our door open and you will able to book online .

What an incredible stay. The apartment was very nice with all of the amenities. Janos and Joseph were fantastic host. They made us feel like we were old friends. I would recommend the tour of Budapest with Janos. He is very knowledgeable and has a big passion for his city. The icing on the cake was the homemade Hungarian dinner after the city tour. Janos and Joseph went well beyond and exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to return and visit our new old friends. This is a 10 put of 10.

This was a very comfortab...

This was a very comfortable and simple apartment. It was perfect for two people, but four people could easily stay as well. The location was ideal and we were able to walk easily to all the tourist destinations; however, if we chose to take public transportation, the trams were only 2 minutes away and were very accessible. There was a lovely local restaurant on the corner that served traditional food at excellent prices. It is called the Pozsonyi and I highly recommend it. Also, there is a FANTASTIC cafe opposite St. Mathias Church called the Ruszwurm. It has been open since 1827 and makes the most incredible desserts. Janos and Joszef were very helpful and sat with us for over an hour with a city map explaining the best places to go. We were very satisfied with our trip and enjoyed the clean and simple apartment.

Merveilleux séjour. Très bon accueil et aide de notre hôte. L'appartement est très bien placé, dans un quartier très agréable, non loin du centre ville et surtout c'est très calme. Si nous revenons à Budapest, nous n'hésiterons pas à relouer ce même appartement.

"Cet appartement est impeccable, idéal pour découvrir Budapest. Il est calme, très bien équipé mais également très propre : on s''y sent tout e suite bien. Et l''accueil très chaleureux et sympathique réservé par nos 2 hôtes est à souligner : ils sont adorables et sont une mine d''informations pour les sites à visiter, les restaurants où manger ... Autre point positif : les transports en commun sont à proximité (la gare centrale de Nyugati est à 5-10 minutes à pied), on trouve de nombreux commerces et de bons restaurants à deux pas de l''immeuble. Une adresse que je conserve précieusement pour un nouveau séjour à Budapest et que je recommande sans aucune hésitation."

"Un parmi les nombreux agréments qu''offre Budapest, il y a la rencontre du locateur Janos et de son copain Jozsef, deux hommes dévoués et charmants envers leurs hôtes. Pour des nord-américains, l''appartement ressemble à l''idée que l''on se fait d''un appartement européen: " Mini cuisine bien équipée, salle de bain moderne, grande chambre confortable et petite pièce tout usage ". L''ensemble un peu bohème est d''une propreté impeccable et c''est agréable d''y vivre. L''appartement est au troisième pour les européens et au quatrième pour les nord-américains. Il y a un ascenseur. N''attendez plus, louez cet appartement, il est très bien situé. Nous y retournerions avec joie!"

"L''accueil que nous réserve les proprietaires est formidable ils sont très prévenants et toujours disponible. Jonas nous donne de très bon conseil pour parfaire une visite ou pour aller à la rencontre d''un Budapest un peu moins touristique: un véritable enchantement. L'' appartement est très propre , central et pourtant très tranquille. Nous avons passé de superbes vacances avec mes enfants dans une très belle ville."

"El apartamento está bien pero para una familia no para dos matrimonios ya que tiene solamente un dormitorio con una cama matrimonial y una cama de soltero y en un pasillo hay otra cama de soltero. La ubicación,el entorno, la limpieza buena. Hay que tener en cuenta que cobran si el consumo de luz y agua es excesivo."

"Dès votre arrivée vous ê...

"Dès votre arrivée vous êtes charmés par le style « Art nouveau » de l’immeuble, en particulier sa cour intérieure très fleurie où donnent toutes les entrées des appartements. Un ascenseur vous conduit au 3e étage. L’appartement d’une propreté irréprochable est très sympathique. Mais dès les premières minutes de contact avec Janos et son ami Joseph, vous comprenez qu’il font tout pour rendre votre séjour agréable. Après vous avoir montré le fonctionnement (double porte, fenêtres qui donnent sur la rue avec vue sur le Danube au bout de la rue si on se penche un peu, appareils ménagers…), il vous donnent un plan de la ville et vous marquent, en les commentant, les différents points de visite possibles.Comme ils ne parlent pas le français, il vous permettent de réviser votre anglais défaillant et de faire des progrès dans cette langue… Et, renseignements précieux quand on débarque, ils vous indiquent le change proche et avantageux, le petit restau à deux pas qui n’est pas « international » (cuisine hongroise excellente, copieux et très bon marché). Le midi ou le soir c’est une pose très appréciable. Très disponibles, très prévenants mais aussi très discrets, Janos et Joseph peuvent être réveillés un dimanche matin tôt pour leur demander l’adresse d’un ophtalmo pour un souci à un œil. Ils vous indiqueront alors l’hôpital polyvalent pouvant vous accueillir et vous donneront, avec tous les détails, comment s’y rendre avec les transports en commun. De cet appartement très bien situé, les jeunes marcheront pour les visites et les moins jeunes se rendront en tous lieux en tram (le 2 et le 4 /6 sont à 3 minutes à pied), bus ou métro. "

"We spent 5 really nice d...

"We spent 5 really nice days in Budapest last month and I would say the owner of this appartment had a lot to do with it since they took time to gave us great adice. The appartment is comfortable, really close to the touristic attractions (we walked all the time) and perfectly clean. It appears important to mention if you do a research on Google Map to look up for the location of this appartment to precise the district since when we did so the program indicated us another intersection with the 2 same street names but much further: don't worry this appartment really is close from everything, a 5 minute walk is enough to get to the Parliament. The kitchen is a bit small for elaborate cooking but is perfectly fine for simple meals, bed is comfortable and there is plenty of room. In fact, I would recommend this place for anyone planning a trip in Budapest. Nous avons passé 5 journées très agréables à Budapest le mois dernier et ce, notamment grâce aux propriétaires de cet appartement qui ont vraiment pris le temps de nous orienter et de nous conseiller pour notre séjour. Aussi, l'appartement s'est avéré confortable, très près de toutes les attractions touristiques (tout pouvait se faire à pied!) et extrêmement propre. Il m'apparait important de mentionner que lorsque nous avions recherché l'adresse au départ sur Google Map, nous avions vu une intersection avec les 2 mêmes noms de rues mais beaucoup plus éloigné, alors si vous faites cette même recherche, n'oubliez pas de préciser le district: cet appartement est réellement à 5 minutes à pied du Parlement. Si vous pensez faire des recettes élaborées, la cuisine pourrait vous paraître un peu petite, mais elle est bien fonctionnelle pour des repas simples. Le lit est bien confortable et il y a beaucoup de rangement. Bref, je recommande chaleureusement cet emplacement à quiconque organise un voyage dans cette région."

"Je n'ai qu'un mot : PARFAIT ! L'appartement est idéalement situé pour sillonner la ville avec les transports en commun. L'accueil des propriétaires est chaleureux et ils sont à l'écoute du moindre désir. Ils font tout leur possible pour faciliter le séjour, ils sont d'une honnêteté remarquable et leur appartement est à leur image, propre, calme, accueillant. Nous gardons un excellent souvenir de nos vacances en partie grâce à eux. Il est évident que notre prochain séjour à Budapest se fera chez eux."
