The apartment is charming. The location is ideal. The owners are friendly and helpful. We loved having coffee on the dock in the morning, swimming and paddling on the lake, walking into town, exploring the area, and enjoying the view in the evening. As others have mentioned, there was a lot of ferrying visitors back and forth from the island, but once we got used to it, it didn't bother us at all. We were also happy that we could bring our dog.
We had a fantastic time in this rental. It's the perfect location - on the lake, so easy to get out fishing - and close to town, so we can walk to many places. We definitely would rent this apartment in the future.
We enjoyed the lake view ! Watching boats and seeing Afew planes taking off ! We were there over 4th of July fantastic fireworks! Walking distance to restaurants
We had a great time staying here. Beautiful view from the main window, clean open place. We enjoyed walking through Main Street everyday. Puzzling and reading on rainy days. Our pup loved staying here too!
The accommodations were exactly as advertised and more than sufficient for our needs. The location is perfect for exploring all that the Rangeley area has to offer. The hostess was very accessible and accommodating with a couple minor issues we experienced. We had a lovely stay and hope to return, thank you!
This is the third Summer that we have stayed in this rental. It is close to town, yet feels like you have a lot of privacy. It's just as described on the VRBO site. The owners were easy to reach and always helpful when we contacted them. We hope to return next summer.
Great waterfront apartment with beautiful view of the lake and a 5 min walk to restaurants and shops in the village. Whether your interest is hiking, boating, fishing, sightseeing or sitting on the dock reading, this place offers it all.
Carol and Curtis are great hosts and will provide plenty of local information and history to make your stay complete.
Although this was not our first time in Rangeley, it was the first time with our boat at the lake. Carol provided an all around amazing experience from the upfront communications, check-in process, and ensuring that once settled we had all that we needed. The apartment and dock exceeded our expectations and being in center of town we enjoyed a week without driving (huge plus for us)! We’ve already booked our next trip with Carol and truly rate this our best VRBO experience to date
Beautiful clean property on the lake. The windows in the living room will be used as your entertainment as you watch the lake all day. It's comfy and reminiscent of a cabin. I really enjoyed my stay and the hosts are great.
We loved our stay. The views from the living room were superb. We watched the Loons for hours. This oversized 1bedroom apartment is perfect for 4 people with one queen bed and a day bed with two single beds. Unit was very clean and as described. We were able to bring our one well behaved dog for an additional fee. Spent hours reading on the dock. You can swim/float out front or swim at Rangeley town dock. Almost everything is in walking distance. FYI there is no tv or WiFi (which my 9 year old was not impressed with) but it was excellent to limit screen time and could always use personal hotspot if needed. Carol (our host) was so friendly and accommodating, helped us with every question. We hope to visit again! ❤️
The property was clean and well equipped. The main feature was the dock on the water which we used frequently. A quick walk to the public park and beach, with a boat launch, as well to shopping and restaurants downtown. A good home base to strike out from for hiking and exploring.
We were more than pleased with the property super cute with all amenities needed (even sheets, might read up on ME & it’s Wildlife-Human issues) as Mid-Westners never being to ME before it’s a great bit of advice to do. We had a wonderful time as Rangeley, ME is situated about 2 & 1/2 hrs from Bangor where we flew into & only 3 & 1/2 hrs from Montreal if u want to venture over to Canada. We also visited Bar Harbor which was only an hr from Bangor. Highly recommend this cabin & town.
The boathouse is a 2nd floor apartment right by the lake and walking distance from the small but quaint town of Rangeley. The apartment is nothing fancy but very clean and well equipped (no AC but nice cross drafts keep it cool). Owners are affable and respectful. We brought our dog and our boat and it was very nice to have a dock a few steps from the apartment. We have two suggestions for improvement, one of which seems to be planned for: (1) A large window to the lake. The apartment could have a great view... except that there are only 2 tiny windows on the side that faces the lake. The owner told us they will add a picture window with side windows for ventilation in the Fall -- that would be a great plus. (2) Other reviewers noted that there is some traffic in and out the dock, given that the owners live in the lake's island and use the dock almost daily to collect friends, workers or run errands. There were several pickup trucks parked in the property during our week there. The privacy issue did not bother us because everybody was nice and respectful, but our suggestion is to have people park in a way that they minimize the obstruction of the view and access to the lake. It's such a great view that the sight of pick up trucks undermines the beauty of the place. Overall, a very nice experience.
