wonderful residence close to the sea....

Maria and Miguel were perfect hosts. Always available when needed and providing us with gifts and first "primary care" of food, water, wine, etc... Whenever we needed advices, we received direct feedback. The lovely house is close to the sea and the "beach bar" is only 100 meters away, so was easy to reach. We felt very well and enjoyed our stay very much. We will definitely come back again!

A gem not to be missed!

If you like getting away from the tourist centres, being in a house that's got oodles of character and charm, offers comfort, space, great location, and a delightful garden, go and stay in this property, you won't be disappointed. Huge thanks to our lovely hosts who were both very helpful and welcoming, while being very discrete. We really appreciated all the lovely extra touches: fresh cut flowers from the garden, food provisions to get us going, Madeira wine waiting on the side board, fresh exotic fruit ready to pick in the garden, and eggs directly from the hens out at the back. The location, half way along the southern coast, is ideal for exploring all over the island and sunnier than many other parts. Go and enjoy it! Huge thanks to Maria and Miguel.

Wir waren für drei Monate in dem wunderschönen Haus von Maria und Miguel und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Die Küche ist sehr gut mit allen Dingen ausgestattet. Für uns waren auch schon einige Lebensmittel vorhanden wie Brot, Butter, Käse, Schinken etc.. Bananen aus dem zum Haus gehörenden Garten lagen auch schon bereit. Die zum Haus gehörenden Hühner haben uns täglich mit Eiern versorgt. Wöchentlich wurden Bettwäsche und Handtücher gewechselt und es wurde auch sauber gemacht. Super Service.Der Kontakt zu Maria und Miguel war sehr herzlich. Miguel hat uns am Anreisetag erwartet und uns Haus und Garten gezeigt. Er war jederzeit für uns erreichbar. Vielen Dank auch für die Infos zur Insel und guten Restaurants. Inoubliable maison, un bonheur !

Maison maderoise ancienne, remarquablement bien aménagée par ses propriétaires actuels qui en ont fait avec goût un havre de paix au milieu de son jardin fruitier (bananes, mangues, kakis, grenades, tomates, piments, figues) : grande pièce à vivre chaleureuse, vaste cuisine très fonctionnelle, chambres sobres et reposantes, salles de bains confortables … partout, des portes ouvrant sur le jardin alentour et ses diverses terrasses et feuillages … et merveille de la petite tour haute face à la mer, avec sa petite pièce carrée aux 4 fenêtres et sa terrasse face à la mer.

Absolut zum Wohlfühlen

Hier kann man es sich gute gehen und die Seele baumeln lassen. Abends auf einer der Terrassen den Tag ausklingen lassen und die Brandung hören, in die man sich am nächsten Morgen stürzen wird - ist das nicht Urlaub? Die Vermieter sind sehr zuvorkommend und überlassen Dir ein sehr gut ausgestattetes und gut gepflegtes Haus, in dem ausreichend Platz für mehrere Personen ist, auch wenn sie nicht zu einer Familie gehören. Auf dem Grundstück findest Du Bananenstauden, Kräuter und einen Mangobaum, an denen Du Dich gerne bedienen kannst. Empfehlung!

Gemütliches Haus in herrlicher Lage / Cosy house in magnificent site

Wir haben im Oktober 2019 eine Woche in dem Ferienhaus verbracht und haben es total genossen! Die Lage abseits der Touristenmassen hat uns besonders gut gefallen. Das Haus und der Garten waren außerordentlich gut gepflegt und sauber, die Vermieter unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und jederzeit erreichbar. Das Haus liegt nur durch eine Straße getrennt direkt an einem groben Kiesstrand, der durch niemanden außer uns zum baden genutzt wurde. Der Verkehr auf der Straße war nur nachmittags etwas mehr, ansonsten aber vernachlässigbar. Alles in allem können wir das Haus absolut empfehlen! Herztlichen Dank nochmal an die Vermieter Maria und Miguel! Obregado! We spent a week in the house in October 2019 and totally enjoyed it! We especially liked location away from the tourist crowds. The house and the garden were extremely well maintained and clean, the landlord incredibly friendly, helpful and always available. The house is separated only by a road directly on a coarse pebble beach, which wasn't used by anyone but us to bathe. The traffic on the street was only a bit more in the afternoon, but otherwise negligible. All in all, we can absolutely recommend the house! Thank you again to the owners Maria and Miguel! Obregado!

Vacances à Madalena

Une très belle maison de caractère, au bord de l'eau et au milieu des bananiers! Beaux espaces intérieurs et extérieurs, nombreuses terrasses. Très bon accueil des propriétaires, nous ayant apporté de quoi diner pour le premier soir puis ayant pris régulièrement des nouvelles. Je recommande sans hésitation cette maison!!

Un très beau séjour dans une magnifique maison sur une île superbe

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine dans cette magnifique maison ! On s'y sent chez soi, c'est beau, la décoration des chambres est très belle, la cuisine pratique, les terrasses très sympas, et quel bonheur d'aller cueillir les bananes pour le petit déjeuner ! L'accueil de Maria et Miguel est chaleureux, merci à vous pour ces merveilleuses vacances !

Tolle Unterkunft!!!

Wir ( zu zweit) haben uns in der Unterkunft sehr wohl gefülhlt! ideal zum entspannen und das Meer ist direkt vor der Tür. Das Haus war top ausgestattet, da gibt es nichts zu kritisieren. Auch die Besitzer Maria und Miguel waren sehr freundlich. Miguel hat uns zur vorher vereinbarten Zeit pünktlich und herzlich empfangen und eine kleine Einführungstour durchs Haus gegeben. Bei Problemen oder Fragen kann man die Zwei problemlos per Telefon oder Mail kontaktieren, auch gibt es Tipps zu Auslfügen, Sehenswürdigkeiten und Kulinarischem. Magdalena do Mar ist gut gelegen, ideal um von dort die Insel zu erkunden. Da es auf der Südseite ist, ist Sonne garantiert! Wir kommen gerne wieder und können die Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen!!

Outstanding place, marvelous host

Maria and Miguels house is certainly one of the most beautiful domiciles you can find on Madeira. The interior design is very classic and every detail in the house breathes love for craftsmanship and artisanal perfection. Rooms, beds, bathrooms, salon and kitchen are perfectly clean and well equipped. Scrolling through the picture gallery you will think it's beautiful and in reality it is even more beautiful than you have imagined. When arriving in early April from freezing Germany flourishing roses and wisteria welcomed us in the garden. The chicken in the backyard are so nice to look at and the fresh eggs picked from the nest tasted really good and the papayas are extraordinary. Put some fresh lemon on it if you are not used to it's taste. Thank you Maria and Miguel also for the your warm welcome including wine, fresh bread and excellent cheese. Note: the house is directly located at the main road connecting the west of the island with it's capital Funchal which is about 30 km away. We learned from Maria the road will become a one way this year which will calm down traffic. We loved it and will certainly come back when travelling again to Madeira. Patrick, Anne and Jakob

Wunderschönes Haus mit viel Platz, einem tollen Garten und sehr netten Vermietern.

Wir waren das erste Mal in Madeira und hatten Glück sofort das passende Haus gefunden zu haben. Verkersanbindung, auch in den Norden super. In dieses Haus kann man sich nur verlieben! Es ist mit viel Geschmack und Liebe eingerichtet. Im Garten Bananen ein Mangobaum und ein Hühnergehege. Terassen auf denen man sitzen kann und zum Sonnenuntergang sind wir in den Turm gegangen. Wir waren zu sechst und hatten viel Platz. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und wir konnten sogar alle zusammen dort kochen. Ich würde immer wieder indieses Haus fahren.

Une maison magnifique et très fonctionnelle pour notre groupe de 7 personnes. De plus elle est idéalement située dans la région la plus ensoleillée de lMadère. De là, nous avons pu rayonner facilement (avec une voiture obligatoirement) vers tous les sites de l'île. Quant à Maria et Miguel, leur accueil et leur gentillesse nous ont charmés. Merci encore à eux. Nous conseillons vivement leur maison à qui souhaite visiter Madère.

Super maison

Superbe maison face à la plage, juste une route à traverser qui n'est pas trop fréquentée. Le bruit de la route n'est pas audible de la maison qui se trouve au fond du jardin. Très jolie et bien entretenue, jardin avec fleurs et bananiers. Les propriétaires sont très gentils.Nous les remercions pour leur petit panier d’accueil :)) Nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir.

Marvellous!

This is a house where you from the first sight have "home-feelings" ! The welcoming of the guestwife, who is doing anything possible to make your stayment a success , is hearthwarming. Before and during the whole trip we received advices and information about what could be interesting to visit and where to go. The house is a pearl in a tropical garden, in a very quiet but centrallayed village, from where it is very easy to start daytrips to all the beautiful nature- and historical corners of the island. ers of the island. It's a pleasure to sit in the little so well restaurated tower of the house with open windows listening to the ocean ( at night you receive a concert of the lokal frogs who are living in an undeep waterpool:-) You can enjoy the amazing fruit and flowers of the garden, and because of the really wellness-climat you can spent long evenings sitting outside, reading in the lot of books with historical and art information. Within you have all the comfort of a large livingroom, two beautifull kitchens, bathrooms, many sunny sleepingrooms,... On a few minutes driving you found a shopp where you can do the all day courses and where they have very nice pattisserie :-) On the whole island they have been very hard working to make the traffic easy,and an amazing systems of chunnels brings you even to the highest mountaintop or your startplace of wandering. Whatever you want to do on Madeira, you 'll find it : a place to enjoy the sun and the ocean, very good restaurants (even in the environment of the house), historical monuments and buildings in lovely towns, and an embarassing lot of wanderpaths who brings you to highlights of the nature of the island.

Petit paradis

La maison est rénovée avec goût très agréable à vivre et très fonctionnelle ... On se sent chez soi. Chacun peut trouver son espace sans se gêner ... L accueil très sympa des propriétaires avec mangues et autres douceurs exotiques du jardin. Nous avons trouve l endroit bien positionne géographiquement pour visiter tout l île. Superbe location

Superbe maison pleine de charme en tout point conforme à sa description et aux photos. Toutes les pièces sont très agréables à vivre et joliment décorées. Le jardin, au cœur de la bananeraie, nous a aussi beaucoup plu avec ses fruits, ses petits coins ombragés, sa terrasse, son poulailler et ses œufs frais. On sent que cette maison a une "vie", on s'y sent de suite très bien, c'est très appréciable. De plus, l'accueil de Maria et Miguel est très simple et très chaleureux, merci à eux. Bref, n'hésitez pas si vous souhaitez passer de superbes vacances sur cette côte de Madère

Very charming villa!

We have spent two fantastic weeks in the villa. It is very spacious, decorated in a charming manner and had everything we needed. Maria and Miguel are very friendly and spoilt us with delicious avocados, bananas, pastries and eggs when we arrived. Our children loved the rooster and chickens, and the toys in and outside the house. A great place for young and old!

Une maison conforme en tout point a la description. Tres bien équipée et soigneusement décorée,cette maison a une ame. Maria et Miguel sont tres accueillants, disponibles et discrets. Second trip to Casa da Madalena

Once again we had a fantastic holiday in this fabulous house. The owners are friendly and helpful and they had even put up a Christmas tree for our holiday over Christmas and New Year's Eve. The house has been lovingly restored and is very well decorated. The rooms are all spacious and well equipped. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Madeira. It is especially well suited to young families, with its fully enclosed courtyard and garden.

It was a great experience those days at Madalena do Mar. A very beautiful house, with a beutiful garden where we could have a nice breakfast. We went for a fabulous dives. Beach is only about 5 minutes walking. Also great welcoming by the house owners. Very, very kind! We hope we can go there again very soon.

Das Haus und der Garten s...

Das Haus und der Garten sind wunderschön, sauber, liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr gut ausgestattet! Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Allerdings ist die Strasse vor dem Haus etwas laut und man sollte keine Angst vor Eidechsen und Krabbeltierchen haben, da diese sich aufgrund der Nähe zur Bananenplantage auch ins Haus verirren können.

"Excellent séjour, maison charmante, environnement magnifique (le tunnel en fin de travaux en avril 2013 devrait bientôt régler tous les problèmes dus à la circulation devant la maison). Baignade un peu sportive sur la plage au bout de Madalena -la plus jolie baie de l''île - mais très agréable. Mention spéciale au coq de la maison. Un personnage !"
