This was a great place to stay for attending a wedding at the Forest House Lodge, which is just a short walk away. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed in the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. You can’t beat the location and price, and I would recommend this cottage if you are looking to stay in the area.
We enjoyed our first visit to Foresthill – and the property was so centrally located! While the place is mostly clean, it could use some deep cleaning, especially the floors – when used a paper towel to wipe water off the floor, it came back filthy. The potential is awesome but needs some elbow grease - windows cleaned, window sills, baseboards, bed headboard, fix the blinds, put some flowers or something in the front window box, throw away the exploded old creamer etc. Bring TP, paper towels – there were none. Drain plug in the bathroom is busted so we just took it out. It would be great if there was a shelf in the bathroom, where the picture is, to put toiletries. Details and deep clean to make it really shine to meet the level of premier host. Overall, we would stay there again.
My boyfriend and I stayed in the cottage for 4 days, and had a nice relaxing time. The place is equipped well and had a great selection of movies. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.
The location was great, but the place was lacking a few things. First there were no sheets for the couch bed, had to just take a blanket from main bed and sleep directly on the couch. Second there were ants all over the toilet, had to kill them and use the toilet quickly before they came back. It served its purpose for one night but was uncomfortable for the reasons mentioned
I wanted somewhere that was nothing like city life and this was it!

The directions provided were confusing and misleading. There was no hair salon to reference as a landmark. Infestation of ants in the bathroom. Trash and dust bunnies under the bed and bedside. The most inconvenient part was the lack of internet access. I was given multiple different networks and passwords to try, all of which provided no access.
If you are looking for a cabin and nothing more, this is good for you. If you want quaint this is not for you. Spider webs under the drapes and around the space, floors slope, things creek and everything is very very old.

The place was NOT clean! It had cobwebs in just about every corner-including spiders. We also had to deal with ants. The place was very dated. Lastly, communicating with the host was a laugh until the last day.
Totally served our purpose for the weekend in Foresthill for our nephews wedding. Normally, we like bring in groceries and cook, but the weekend was full of events so we had no need.
We stayed at this property to attend a wedding in Foresthill. Location was excellent! We did have some issues with the WiFi and some allergies in the unit due to dust. However, we think that this is a great option for those who are stopping by Foresthill to attend a wedding.
We enjoyed staying in this cute little cottage. It was very clean inside and had everything we needed. The bed was nice and comfy. We kayaked two lakes in the area and it was nice to come home to this lovely place. When we had a question, we got a fast reply to help us.
The cottage was comfortable and conveniently located, though we encountered a few maintenance and upkeep inconveniences that the owner hopefully will have tended to before their next booking arrives. We left a day earlier than intended.- The current photo seems to be outdated with what we arrived to. There are now trees that drip very sticky honeydew/sap onto the walkway, patio table, chairs, and car parking area.- Kitchen sink light fixture has a loose ceiling connection deeming it non-functional.- Smoke detector was found non-functional in a drawer.- Bathroom sink plunger rod was unattached; drain cover non-functional.- Fan light chains were broken off both in the living area and bedroom.- Patio umbrella was broken and inoperable.- Lock box was broken.- Would have appreciated knowing there was no closet or accommodations for a suitcase and to have brought hangers to hang on the over-the-door-clothes hanger.- Was sent outdated Wi-Fi information and conflicting information regarding check-in times. The owner was responsive and helpful throughout our stay, and I trust these issues will be resolved for future guests.

Lovely cottage perfect for Western States Foresthill cheering
Fantastic location and lovely little home for a 2-night stay to cheer for runners at the Foresthill aid station for Western States. Great access to the Western States trail too!
This little cottage was very cute, however the yard and outside pictures were outdated. The inside was clean and comfortable. However we could not get the internet or cable to connect. The oven was hot and radiated heat into the cabin. We could not figure out how to turn it off. We turned on the a/c but it battled the heat from the oven all night. We called and left a message with the owners and didn’t hear from them until early the next morning. They told us they were out of the county and would contact the maintenance guy. He was there right away. He said they had just laid the new flooring right before we arrived. The cable had been disconnected connected, the oven knob must have been taken off and not put back properly, during their moving of things for the flooring. They were able to connect us to the internet( it kept disconnecting)but the cable would not connect. They even brought in a different tv, but that wouldn’t work either. They work on it for a good hour. James and William were so, so nice. They kept apologizing. James arranged for us to stay at another cabin, just down the street and paid for our dinner at a local restaurant!Despite those issues we had a great few days in Forest Hill and James and William definitely made up for the issues we had.
