The Carpathian Cabin will become your favorite relaxation place in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The long range views of the Parkway can be enjoyed from the large deck, as well as from the kitchen, living room and main bedroom.
You will feel like home due to the cozy atmosphere and the fully equipped kitchen and be energized by the abundance of natural light in the living and dining room.
The cabin is in a beautiful mountain setting, away from busy streets and other vacation rentals. The few neighbors are very friendly. This is a perfect place for couples or families with children to take in the outdoors. Come swing on the tree tire swing, relax in the side yard or on the deck, watch birds or go on a hike nearby. Come fall or winter, spring or summer. Each season has its beauty up here and you might just pick a different favorite while here.
If you want to explore the area, Blue Ridge Parkway is about a mile away and Blowing Rock and Boone are about a 10 min drive. They offer restaurants, parks, playgrounds and shopping, to list a few points of interest.
Tweetsie Railroad and Mystery Hill are big attractions for children and less than 10 min drive from the cabin.
Appalachian Ski Mountain is about 15 min away and Tubing/Canoeing on New River is a 30 min drive.
Hiking can be done in the area Parks, off of Blue Ridge Pkway, as well as around the cabin.
Grandfather Mountain is about a 30 min drive.

Overall, the house is a good value - great location between Boone and Blowing Rock, clean condition, and great communication with the owner. As some have mentioned, the road to the house is not in good condition at all, in need of a good regrading effort with more stone, especially near the parking area where the road has washed out significantly. Glad I had 4wd.

The property needs updating furniture decor. It was very moldy/musty smelling. Also need more nice touches like blankets, tissues, book on info for the area like where to eat.

The cabin has heat and central A/C. Once these are ran, the air refreshes in the house. Also, there are 4 ceiling fans that can be used by guests. We can’t leave these on between guests. We do our best to set the house at a comfortable temperature before guests check in. That generally moves and refreshes the air inside. Cabin is furnished and decorated just like pictures show. There are lots of blankets (6) at our guests’ disposal, plus extra comforters - in linen closet. We provide linens, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dishwasher tablets and detergent, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, etc. for our guests’ convenience. Also, info about the area is printed and included in a binder on kitchen shelf, for our guests’ use. There are also area brochures in a basket in living room. We are always happy to answer guests’ questions on food places, entertainment, etc - as options are plenty within a 30 mi radius.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was perfect for our family of 4. Our kids loved the tree swings and ping pong table.It is a great location between Boone and Blowing Rock. You do need to drive to one of those towns for dinner if you’re planning to eat out.The host was very easy to communicate with.

We had a wonderful stay at this mountain house! The home was exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. The location was perfect—close to town and local attractions, but still peaceful and private with beautiful mountain surroundings. Check-in was easy, and the host was responsive and helpful. Stayed for the weekend and could not be happier. The location is *perfect*. Close to Boone, Blowing Rock, etc and very convenient. The place itself was very clean and comfortable. A nice place to return to at the end of the day's adventures and to wake up at and take in the calm of the mountains before heading out. Excellent communication before my stay and would absolutely choose to stay here again. 5-star stay all around.

The cabin was very clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the mountains from the living room window. The gravel road to the house is rough and difficult for sedan vehicles. It was helpful having two driveways since everyone in our group drove separately.

This cabin worked out perfectly for our visit! Close to both Boone and Blowing Rock. Only minutes from a truly beautiful section of the Blue Ridge Parkway! Neat and clean. Everything we needed. Great communication, and the host graciously offered us both an early check-in and late check-out! Would definitely stay here again

Everything was as advertised. Great communication . Clean. Peaceful. Convenient to Boone and ASU. Drive way is a little rough to navigate but we came in during the rain and didn’t really have any issues. You would definitely need all wheel drive if you were coming in when snow was probable.

Great weekend getaway

Lovely little cabin for my family of three. Close to Boone/blowing rock and all of its offerings, but cozy enough to enjoy evenings at home grilling and playing board games and slow mornings watching the cows in the meadow below the deck.

Welcome to our story! We are a family of 5 and live in Charlotte, NC.
We fell in love with the Blue Ridge while vacationing at cabins in West Virginia and North Carolina and travelling the Blue Ridge Parkway. We decided to purchase our own cabin and had to have long range views, so we could enjoy the mountain feel every time. It also had to have surroundings safe for small children playing. We found this beautiful spot that reminds us of the mountains in the country we grew up in, Romania. The roads, the nature, the neighbors, it all feels like home. So we made it our second home! We come here a lot and relax and have fun every time. The fact that we are so close to both Boone and Blowing Rock, civilization and wilderness, was a big plus in our decision making.
Winter is our favorite season up here, as we enjoy sledding, skiing and skating. If it snows in the area, than this place will be the last to melt!
There are blooms around the cabin from spring to fall that delight us every year. We canoe on the New River in the summer and watch the Tweetsie’s fireworks on the 4th of Jul from the hill across the street.
This is really an inspirational place and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do and decide to come back.
