Set on a beautiful seven acres of wooded hillside, Homestead Hideaway offers you a unique opportunity to rest and relax within a peaceful setting. Located just 15 Miles from Galena, Illinois, our cabins in the woods can be your home away from home while you enjoy Galena, Chestnut Mountain, hiking, wineries, and all the other amenities Jo Daviess County has to offer.
When you stay at Homestead Hideaway, you can simply relax in our cozy rustic cabins, or get out and enjoy everything the area has to offer. At Homestead Hideaway you can expect a tranquil feel and a stress free retreat. The cabins are located in a beautiful rural area where it is perfect to have a cup of coffee or tea in the mornings and enjoy the wildlife. Let our cabins be a chance to unplug from the world and help ensure you have a relaxed and secluded stay. We have fiber internet, but no cable TV.

We have two historic cottages located on the property and three separate rentals. The cabins are located on opposite ends of the property. You can enjoy the seven acres of wooded area by hiking or taking your dog for a walk. Whether you are planning a romantic trip to Galena, a golfing trip, a couple’s getaway, a wine lovers weekend, or skiing at Chestnut Mountain during the winter months, Homestead Hideaway will accommodate to your needs.

We have decided to go beyond the brochure advertising and word of mouth and work with VRBO for our rentals. Do not hesitate to ask any questions.

This rental is for the Brimeyer cabin. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One bedroom is located on the top level with a King bed. The second bedroom is on the bottom level with a queen bed. The main level has a kitchen and a living/dining area. There is also a sofa sleeper in the living/dining area.

The other cabin on the property also has two rentals on this website. The top two levels of the other cabin is the Seven Sisters Suite vrbo # 623038. The lower level/unit of the cabin is our Gleneagle Suite which is also listed on VRBO #624157


We have passes available for ACL Nixon beach (15 minute drive) and ACL pool. Open memorial day- labor day each year. You must speak to host prior to arrival for information. You must have tags and parking passes for these amenities and there is a fee from security deposit IF LOST TAGS
