What an amazing & beautiful week we had on Jekyll Island. We were celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary with our family and best friends. We made lots of wonderful memories! Our stay at Turtle Dunes was fabulous. The house is a beauty...large, roomy, inviting & decorated very nicely. We enjoyed being just a few steps from the beautiful beach. The pool was always inviting in the evening. We can't wait to come back next year! We hope to make this a must for years to come. The only things that would add a very nice touch is if the stained rugs downstairs were replaced and the shower doors cleaned with Lime-A-Way. This makes shower doors sparkle. These 2 things would make this place PERFECT!

Great place to get away yet stay “at home”

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is set up to get away yet stay at home. Very spacious and lots of room to gather throughout the house. The balcony upstairs off the dining room is great for morning coffee, there is a grilling area off the kitchen for grilling meals to stay in ... bedrooms have step out areas to smell the salty air! Having our own pool was a huge plus. The beach access is right outside the door so going back and forth to / from the beach was a breeze!The only criticism is that the house was not the cleanest property we have stayed in. It didn’t look like furniture was moved and cleaned behind, the rugs were dirty, the doors were not the correct color(I.e. dirty), etc.... we ran the vacuum and swept the floor several times ... the cleaning crew dropped the ball! We did enjoy or stay and would go back!

Family Fun at Turtle Dunes

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Turtle Dunes offered ample space to spread out and relax, with kids of a variety of ages. The pool is small but well-maintained and sufficient for plenty of fun. The two kitchens was a little strange, but ended up being nice to serve drinks and snacks from on the lower level, to those hanging out at the pool. The kitchens could be better equipped (hand towels, storage containers) but it was perfectly serviceable. Another helpful addition would be doormats at the entries, particularly for those coming in from the pool. When issues arose (pool filter, air conditioning dripping) Jekyll Realty responded promptly. All in all, Turtle Dunes was a great place for family fun and gathering and Jekyll Realty was responsive and helpful. ThankYou!

A once in a lifetime vacation together in one house. The pool, the closeness to the beach, the pkg including 6-bicycles for use in the week of our vacation. The living space in the house, the gas grill, the 2-fully stocked kitchens at the home and of course the private pool on the property. Excellent! Wonderful!

Having the ability to choose to walk out the backdoor and spend time at the pool or walk 100 yards to the beach was very nice. The property itself was clean and well suited for the nine people we had. We could have fit two more comfortably. Having two kitchens made it easy to prepare large meals and keep lunch separated from dinner time. I would definitely recommend this property to others looking for a relaxing time.

Spacious But Dirty

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is ideal if you have multiple families traveling together as you can really spread out. The upstairs kitchen by far surpasses the downstairs one; however, the downstairs living space is nicer than the upstairs. We felt the house was really unclean compared to many other houses we've stayed in on Jekyll. There were far more bugs inside than I've ever seen on a typical stay. We couldn't find a broom on the property just to sweep up sand and daily debris. The pool was pretty murky and green, so we didn't end up using it. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable for our children. I wouldn't recommend the house, but the location and proximity to the beach was great.

Wonderful needed more cleaning

Great property and location but wasn’t cleaned very well. I had to go purchase a broom and mop to clean floors. Bought my own bathroom cleaner which was needed. Really glad no one got bit by a bee because of HUGE hive outside one of the doors. We noticed on check in day also needed to be told the pool cleaner came 2 times a week. Kind of scared my daughter with her baby in the pool!!!

Wonderful home, perfect location. We haven’t been to the island since our parents brought us here as children in the 80’s. This time we came back and brought them and our own families. The house was spacious and well setup for our whole group, not to mention in a great location. We found lots of starfish and sand dollars, fed the deer, thoroughly enjoyed the pool, biked and hiked all over Jekyll, toured Cumberland island and St Simons, had a wonderful experience charter fishing with Captain Griffin catching sharks redfish and trout, and enjoyed everything else we could possibly fit into the week. We can’t wait to come back again!

Family vacation

My family enjoyed the house very much during our trip. Access to the beach was easy as the walkway to the beach was steps from the house, although those with mobility issues may not be able to use this access as there is flight of starters to go up and another to go down to the beach. However, there are easier beaches to access just minutes from the house in either direction. The pool is also very nice, and we used it every day. The home has ample living space, including 2 living rooms, too, which we enjoyed.

We were pleasantly surprised to find that some of the former renters had left behind lots of beach chairs and a few pool toys so we didn't have to purchase or rent these items once we arrived. The rental company was wonderful and very helpful. The only negatives we saw were with one bed and the AC in one bedroom. The Queen bed in the room with the bunk beds appears to be very old and broken down. It was very hard and dips in the middle. The bedroom next door to this room appears to have some issues with the AC. The ceiling fan doesn't work so we purchase a fan and just kept the door open to keep the air circulating because we could not get any cold air out of the vents in that room. Everything else was wonderful. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we will be renting again.

Awesome location, Nice house.

We loved the location and that there was a pool which the kids used almost everyday. There was enough room for 8 of us to stay comfortably without being on top of each other all the time. Both kitchens were well equipped. Beds were comfortable. There were a few things that need to be taken care off. Many pillows need to be replaced. The cleaning crew needs to vacuum between the couch cushions. We found food from the previous occupants. The bathroom doors need to be cleaned better. Also the closet door next to the master bedroom needs a serious cleaning. We were woken up by the fire alarm one night at 2am. We called 911 and the fire dept arrived quite quickly. No fire just faulty/old alarms. The EMT guy who came said this is one of the most popular rental places and his favorite. 😊 The management company came and changed all the alarms and put in new batteries. So great service on that point. All in one a great vacation place. Would definitely recommend.

Enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful location. House was very roomy and we were able to put the teens downstairs and the adults upstairs. Only hiccup is some of bed pillows and mattress covers need to be replaced. We brought our own pillows, which was good because the pillows on site had stains. Never could get the front door to lock from the exterior, so we just would go out another door.

Amazing property!

We were thrilled with the property and are so thankful to have had the opportunity to stay there for our vacation. It was clean and comfortable and very spacious. The pool was well maintained and perfect for our grandkids (and me!). The ONLY thing I would change is the front door lock! I definitely was not a fast learner on that! Everything else was just wonderful!
