The house is even better than expected! Beautiful setting looking over the water towards Mt. Rainier. Hosts have thought of every detail for comfort - great beds, plenty of linens, cookware, even basic spices, oils etc. Peaceful hot tub and easy access to the water. We will be back in the warmer season to use their kayaks! Thank you Wendy for a lovely stay!
Owner attentive to advance requests for info, and the home was just perfect for our needs. Beds comfortable and shoreline walks were so relaxing. A perfect blend of near to town and far from the busy city life.
Beautiful and very clean home located on a relaxing property! Hosts response was fast, which is greatly appreciated. Directions for the home were clear and simple. We enjoyed the views of the water on the deck, around the bonfire, and from the hot tub. This home is absolutely perfect for a relaxing getaway!
The host was communicative and getting to the property was simple. The house was clean. The setting was very peaceful. We enjoyed walking on the beach. We would stay at this house again.
This was a return visit for us to our very favorite rental vacation home in the PNW. We've stayed in many many properties over the past 15 years but nothing beats the quiet, comfortable, relaxing, and beautiful location, home, and terrific host. This is the perfect romantic getaway on the water to rest, reconnect, and recharge.
We absolutely loved our 2 night stay! The setting and view was amazing and can't be beat. Kids enjoyed combing the beach at low tide, kayaking, and watching seals, and jellyfish. The quite setting, views, and the back deck made for a lovely spot to sit and take it all in. It was a perfect spot for our family of 6 to get away together.

It was such a pleasure hosting your family, Kinley! I’m so glad you enjoyed your time!!
We loved everything about this property. From the morning and evening views of Rainier to the hot tub, it was just what we needed. Felt so secluded and was very quiet yet a good midpoint for trips to Olympic, Rainier and Seattle. Taking the kayaks out on the inlet was a nice option to have as well.
We had such a good time. seeing the wildlife was amazing. the seals etc. it is perfectly quiet and away. felt like home away from home. very relaxing for our whole family

Gorgeous view! Secluded feel!
Wonderful time unwinding. Or winding up for our daughters E.C. Graduation!
Only wish was for a variety of sauce pans for cooking. Fast, helpful communications, great selection of books. Wish we had stayed longer!

So glad you enjoyed our home! Congratulations on your daughter's College graduation! Thank you for the input on the sauce pans! It is always our intention to create the perfect home away for our guests. I will be sure to get a few more pans to round out our stocked kitchen.
We hope you can visit us another time.
My fiancé and I stayed here for 3 nights and wow is this place a dream! Wendy was awesome and responded promptly to any question I had throughout the stay! We had a fire watching the sunset on the water, used the hot tub to warm up on the cool nights and even got to rent a kayak! Hopefully it will be available next year because we are looking forward to staying here again!
From the awesome communication to the spectacular house, this was an absolute dream mini vacation for my 50th birthday! We didn’t want to leave!! Everything was immaculate! Thank you Wendy!
The house had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. We used the grill and hot tub a lot while there. Wendy was wonderful and very responsive. The nature and scenery were spectacular. You could not ask for a more beautiful and relaxing retreat on the Sound. You will see deer, seals and if you’re lucky orcas. Thank you for the incredible stay! We will be back.
Terrific house to celebrate our anniversary with memorable views of the Sound and Mt Rainier at sunrise and sunset from the windows and deck. We were fortunate to have clear and sunny weather during most of our short stay in this quiet, clean, and comfortable home. We enjoyed the space, hot tub, and beach area with lots of wildlife, including seals and herons, to view. The house included most everything one would need for a relaxing stay. Wendy was a gracious host and we enjoyed our time here very much!
We really enjoyed our time at this well-appointed home on the water. The hot tub with a view was a particular treat. AC is a listed amenity which we found a bit misleading since there is only one wall unit and it is in the second bedroom. It was in the upper 80's when we were there so the house got a little warm. Overall a very nice stay.

I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay! I looked back over the listing. The AC details were explained as a window unit. I also provided an extra
Floor fan. Luckily the house is shaded by late afternoon & the bay is always available for a cool dip. Thank you for being lovely guests. We appreciate you taking such good care of our home.
The house was just right for our stay. We were working (one teleworking at the house, the other commuting to office in town), but the kitchen and dining room had everything to enjoy home cooked or takeout meals in the evening. The hot tub was especially nice, in any weather. The fireplace was cozy on rainy days, and when the sun came out...WOW! Gorgeous sunrise, sea lions cavorting in the inlet, and a fabulous view of Mt Rainier.

So peaceful!
We enjoyed the peace of the sound while taking advantage of the hot tub and kayaks! Very comfy. The only issuse was the back deck, needs a little work. We were afraid of nails popping up...had to wear shoes and some of the wood was rotten. Other than that, had a wonderful!! Time!

Good to hear you took full advantage of the hot tub and kayaks, Leslie! They’re some of our favorite parts of the property. We’re happy to let you know that we’ve replaced the deck with a new, larger deck with engineered no-splinter, no-nail planks. The house and gardens are fully renovated. We’d be happy to host you again if you’re in the area!

Gorgeous Serenity
This home was perfect for our quick trip to the area to visit Evergreen State. It gave us a real sense of the spectacular influence that the forest and Puget Sound would have on our daughter's college experience--completely spectacular setting. The home is not super updated but is really really well maintained and has everything you need. Renting the kayaks added to the experience creating lasting memories of an early morning adventure with my almost grown up girl. Loved it.

I grew up in Olympia, graduating from Olympia High. My parents and family live across Eld Inlet. I now live in San Francisco and run an interior design firm. I like to come to Olympia often for family visits and to enjoy the Great Northwest.
Why they chose this property
I bought this property because of the fabulous Mt Rainier views and the waterfront location. It is amazing to watch the water change with the seasons and the time of day. It is amazing to wake up looking across Eld Inlet to Mt Rainier! I often kayak across the bay to visit my parents who live on Cooper Point. Or, it is a short drive.
What makes this property unique
Beautiful Pickering is an amazing retreat! It is a great place to decompress and relax. It is very romantic! One can take walks on the beach and enjoy the views. There are lots of outdoor activities available nearby.
