About Jeanne Hollingsworth
I grew up in the Bay area and went to Berkeley, but left for 15 years in South America shortly thereafter. I was with my college sweetheart following him around 10 countries in 15 years on a fast track advertising career much like the series Madmen! When I came back to the US with two suitcases, an eight year old son and no husband, I landed in New Mexico at the Light Institute where I learned to follow my heart. Visiting my sister in Santa Barbara, she suggested I see the Santa Ynez Valley. When I came to the Valley, separated from any other city by 30 miles, nestled in a beautiful valley of vineyards and horse ranches, grass laden hillsides dotted by heritage Oak trees, I knew I wanted to live and die here. I loaded up my horses and my son and we came to start our future. That was 24 years ago.
Jeanne Hollingsworth purchased this House in 2001
Why Jeanne Hollingsworth chose Los Olivos
I raised my son in this home. I felt like it was a window to the sky. It was place where all of my dreams came true. My son grew up and became a strong, successful, sensible, responsible and incredible father and husband. When he left home, I met a man and built the horse ranch of my dreams with him. I chose to renovate the house to the luxury and style equivalent to our horse ranch and rent it to others to enjoy beautiful Los Olivos. Even though we built the most gorgeous home and ranch of 500 acres, we still miss our home in Los Olivos. Living simply in town with the cozy feeling of the people and establishments that you enjoy so close by is a wonderful way to live. The Los Olivos vacation rental is a place of belonging and comfort. I hope it is a place where people gather and build and strengthen friendships. Happiness rings within its walls.
What makes this House unique
Being so close to town and yet a little above it all is a decided advantage. The backyard comes with a dog run on the side and is fenced for dogs as is the front lawn. The privacy of the hedges around the front lawn make your own patio under the poplar tree where you can see everything, but no one can see you. So many long talks and silent discussions have run along like notes of a song on the front porch. Hours have passed away in friendship and laughter. Downstairs has a large patio and a covered redwood deck . It has places to sit and dine and relax in the shade of the garden. It's fun to go upstairs and downstairs with privacy in the family that gathers either in one area or the other. Plenty of space for individual comfort and shared times too.

The house is beautiful and cozy. The beds are one of the biggest hits! They’re super comfy and plush. Jeanne is a great hostess! The location is in the heart of Los Olivos and is within walking distance to the different tasting rooms.
For those that love Los Olivos, you can't get a better location. Just steps from the town center and our favorite wine tastings!
Great weekend away
A group of couples stayed in the home for a weekend away wine tasting! The location was great and the house was very comfortable. The beds and pillows were amazing! The kitchen was well stocked! Thank you!
Conveniently located cute and comfortable home
The house is in a great location, which allows you to easily access Los Olivos by foot.
Fabulous Los Olivos property!
This house was beyond fabulous! So comfortable, completely furnished in a first-class manner, tons of quaint outside sitting areas, and a gorgeous view. Not to mention, it is a block away from the center of town. We (five people) so enjoyed our stay there and are trying to figure out when we can go back to rent the home again. I highly recommend this property!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the house. I just invested in even better new linens, just for fun. I'm glad you could enjoy the location and lively town of Los Olivos.
Beautiful outdoor space. Perfect location
We stayed at Jeanne’s for a family gathering. We were very comfortable there, with plenty of room and comfortable beds for multiple generations of the family. Jeanne was very responsive and offered helpful suggestions for planning our event. The best part was the outdoor space which was absolutely lovely. My only caveats: the kitchen is quite small, so I’d recommend planning to grill or take advantage of the fabulous restaurants in the area if you have a large party. Overall it was very pleasant!
Thank you so much for your rave review. I’m glad you had so much fun in the lovely energy of the house. One reservation slow down January I am remodeling the kitchen! A galley kitchen it’s just not for 2018. I hope to see you again in the near future. Be well! Jeanne
Los Olivos was made famous by Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch, and he was sometimes seen walking around town. The movie Sideways was filmed here, which put this town of 1000 people on the map; we now boast 50 wine tasting shops. Los Olivos is a happy town, with local events occurring regularly. There are three elegant restaurants: Los Olivos Cafe, Sides from Brothers Restaurant, and The Bear and Star, in Fess Parker's Wine Country Inn and Spa.
From the downstairs patio of the house you can walk to the corner to the corner coffee house. On your way, browse Wendy Foster's Dress Shop and Italian shoes. Locally made Stafford's Chocolates have the most delicious salted caramels and red wine truffles. Alll that is just on the same street downstairs.
First Street Leather is next to Stolpman wine tasting. Panino's has the best sandwiches, try the #12 on wheat sourdough, it's a favorite! The Lavina Campbell Park has recently been renovated for a picnic or a time to relax and people watch. Many wine tasting shops have patios and tables on lawns for picnics and wine.
If you take a stroll the two blocks by two blocks which makes up Los Olivos, turn into the Saint Marks church parking lot where there is a bench in an entry by the side cemetery which is quiet and serene for a reflective moment.
Passing the R Country Store on your way home anything you are missing can be quickly picked up. Los Olivos is a very safe place to be. All that right outside your door, AND if you feel like a drive, try Solvang, a Danish settlement with delectable bakeries, it's just minutes away. If you feel like getting a feel of the Old West, the town of Santa Ynez is close by. Lake Cachuma is located just 7 miles south. Great fishing, boating, kayaking. And there's more! The Valley is great for bike riding and hiking, too.
