This stunning country house is located in the peaceful hamlet of S. Huish. Seven bedrooms, three reception rooms, beautiful gardens with own drive with plenty of parking, gated side garden with heated pool, hot tub, bbq and outdoor seating areas. If you should wish to leave this perfect family retreat, the beach at Thurlestone Sands is a mile down the road, wonderful for sunbathing, swimming and watersports. The village of Thurlestone a little further on with its famous links golf course. Hope Cove and the surfing beach at Bantham are also nearby. The bustling sailing town of Salcombe with it's golden beaches and designer shops is 4 miles away. This gorgeous 17th century hideaway provides the perfect base from which to explore the treasures of the South Devon Coastal path and beyond.

Set back from a quiet lane and only overlooked by the ruins of St Andrew's Church. Once through the gate, continue down the drive through the beautiful lawned garden. At the front of the house is a large, sheltered terrace with wicker sofas, and large dining table, perfect for lazy summer entertaining.

Inside

Ground floor. Entrance to hall. Large country style lounge with inglenook fireplace with log burning stove and window seat. Large fully equipped farmhouse kitchen with granite worktops, aga, oven, hob, dishwasher. Vintage dresser, larder and large pine table and chairs. Utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, american fridge freezer and butler sink. Adjoining the kitchen is the vaulted garden room with corner sofa, tv with sky and pool table. Off the hall is a downstairs cloakroom. At the rear of the house is a cinema room with football table and dart board. From this room there is access to the hot tub and pool area. Upstairs there are 7 beautiful bedrooms and 5 bathrooms spaced out over 2 floors.

Upon request only we have a DOWNSTAIRS DOUBLE BEDROOM, please note showering facilities are upstairs.

Outside

As well as the beautiful gardens and terrace at the front of the house, to the side is a gated area that leads to the hot tub, and a further patio with loungers surrounded by olives trees and roses. This area can also be accessed from the cinema room. Up some steps you will find the heated outdoor pool (open May - September). Above the pool is another large terrace with a summerhouse, bbq and further tables and chairs perfect for dining whilst relaxing by the pool.


The garden provide something for everyone, room for the kids to roam free, space for a family game of frisbie, a croquet tournament or football match or just somewhere hide away and relax. There is even an outdoor table tennis table.


CANCELLATION POLICY - in light of the current situation I have changed my policy to 14 days but once the COVID-19 outbreak ends (in line with Government advice) I will revert to my 60 day cancellation policy.

Fantastic spot, perfect for a family Christmas, with ages ranging from 8 to 86. Two well behaved dogs also permitted to join the party.The house is very well equipped, both in terms of multiple spaces to accommodate the quieter and noisier members of the party, and in terms of kitchen equipment. Cooking a Christmas lunch for a full house was a breeze!We walked to the beach - about 20 minutes at a brisk pace. Lots of great beaches and towns and villages to visit and experience.Whilst you might be thinking summer fun, I would also highly recommend this as a fantastic home to host a large family / friend gathering at Christmas.The host is also very friendly, efficient and helpful.

Beautiful home, beautiful location. Hot tub greatly appreciated to combat the chilly and rainy autumn weather. Local lanes are very interesting but Salcombe and Kingsbridge are only a few minutes away. Nearby beaches are well worth a visit even in inclement weather. Three generations greatly enjoyed their half term break. Would thoroughly recommend.

Court Barton House is a fabulous place to spend a relaxing holiday. The house is very comfortable, tastefully decorated and the facilities are second to none. This was our second stay,lovely house with plenty space for everyone .loved using the pool which was a great temperature.Used hot tub loads as well had slight issue with temperature but was sorted out really quickly.I love this house and would love to stay again.We visited a few places and enjoyed a meal at the sloop inn on way to house.

An absolutely stunning house with extremely high standards and everything any holiday maker could possibly want. Best self catering property that we have ever stayed in. The only minor down side was the array of narrow, single track lanes to the property which were not ideal for nervons drivers!!

A perfect week in stunning accommodation

We have just returned from a fantastic week at this beautiful house, and just wish we would have been able to stay longer. The property had something for everyone, as we travelled with our family age ranges from 2-70. The weather was so fabulous, so most of our time was spent outside in the pool or relaxing in the extensive grounds of the house, having BBQ's most nights we were there. The interior of the house is amazing, with large reception areas, and beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms. We went to the local beaches at south Milton, Hope Cove and North Beach in salcombe, all of which were beautiful in their own way. My personal favourite was Hope Cove with a few fabulous pubs, shops and places to eat alongside two great beaches where we swam and rock pooled . All in all an amazing week, which we all absolutely loved, and have no hesitation in recommending

Devon Country House Stay

Beautiful house which is perfect for a large family group ranging from young to old. Well appointed and lots of separate spaces for to allow granny to escape in the evening. Very dog friendly and very close to beaches. Beware tight country lanes with passing places if thats not your thing but no problem for us. 10/10

This house is perfect for an extended family to come together. The pool, hot tub, outdoor spaces and different rooms are just right. Plenty of spaces to eat/be together and equally to find some quiet space. Close to beautiful beaches, for surfing or paddleboarding. The games and entertainment are all superb. It’s homely, comfortable and in the most beautiful setting with birds and bats a plenty. Being dog friend is the winner. Loved it.

Amazing

CBH is a real ‘home from home’ we were a family with ages ranging from 2 yrs to 65 yrs and the house and facilities worked for us all. Lots of reception rooms which gave us all a place to be. The kitchen is a great place to congregate and so lovely to be cooking on an aga… ( there is a job and another oven available) The kitchen is really well equipped and we cooked at home rather than going out most days. The pool and hot tub excellent and there are loads of indoor and outdoor games available for whatever the English weather throws at you. The beds are really comfy and bathrooms clean and spacious and there is always loads of hot water. South Milton Sands is a stones throw away and Hope Cove too for beach days. We had a wonderful week and will definitely be returning.

We fell in love with this property as soon as we were through the gate. Over the last few years we have totally refurbished the house and added the pool. It is truly the perfect bolt hole for me and my husband, 3 grown up children and extended family. We are based in Surrey but come down regularly for long weekends.

Why they chose this property

We have been holidaying in the South Hams for the last 15 years and in 2009 decided to buy a property as we loved it so much. Over the last 7 years we have had many happy holidays and celebrations with friends and family at our home.

What makes this property unique

The magic of this house is the total peace and tranquility that washes over you as soon as you arrive. My daughter says this is her most favourite place in the world.
