Stay on the English Riviera, Vomero Holiday Apartments in Torquay, South Devon is set within an acre of beautiful tiered gardens which our guests have full use of. Return to the peace and tranquility of Vomero after a busy day out.

Located just a short walk away from the town centre, shops, harbour and seafront, Vomero is perfectly located for beach days, meals out, or drinks overlooking the bay. There are many local attractions close by including Kent’s Cavern, Babbacombe Model Village, Bygones and Torquay Museum. Torquay is also lucky to have 3 theatres, including The Princess Theatre often performing shows straight out of the West End and concerts from well known artists.

Great public transport links with buses readily available, local taxis, Torquay and Torre train stations and ferry services across the bay to Paignton, Brixham and Dartmouth. So you can park up at Vomero and leave the car until it’s time to go home!

Local activities include golf at Torquay Golf Club, bowling at Hollywood Bowl, kayak & paddle boarding hire, full leisure facilities including indoor pool at the Riviera Leisure Centre, lawn bowling, tennis courts, indoor bouldering and climbing, snooker clubs, fishing trips out in the bay, Splashdown waterpark, Torquay Watersports and so much more…

Cockington Country Park is less than 3 miles away set within 450 acres, it’s pretty ornamental lakes, a historic Manor House with craft centre and studios, a chocolate box village, delightful thatched cottages and a quaint 11th Century church is a tranquil retreat for a leisurely stroll. For the walkers you can join the South West Coastal Path with its stunning scenery which is around a 15 minute walk away from Vomero.

Vomero is a grade II listed building built in 1838 has historic past residents, Isambard Kingdom Brunel in 1848, and Haile Selassie in 1935 whose families all enjoyed Vomero’s historic grandeur with its impressive sweeping mahogany staircase and stunning stained glass windows.

All six apartments have a southerly aspect ensuring Vomero is a real sun trap! Upstairs apartments Vomero, Napoli and Genova all enjoy exceptional garden and sea views with private balconies.
Top of the house, The Penthouse has incredible views day and night, our luxury retreat. Downstairs Venezia has french doors onto a private garden terrace, Roma can easily access the gardens via the front door.

Charming, well located apartment

Not much to add....exactly as described! We had a very comfortable stay and John was a charming host. We can particularly recommend the 'Old Vienna' restaurant which was within walking distance for a special night out. Many thanks.

John was very welcoming, the house was very spacious and the apartment was large and well presented. A great location near to the sea front with beautiful views of the sea. We would highly recommend this property and location for couples, singles, families. The little details made all the difference for example, decent knives in the kitchen and the dishcloth and tea towels being provided along with tin foil and cling film. The playroom for the kids is a good idea too and John has plenty of local knowledge and information for those new to the area.

Excellent property with great views from the balcony, on site parking a bonus in Torquay.

Ideally situated property that is well maintained and has character & history. The owners were very friendly and were always available should you need them. The views from the balcony were great and there were larges grounds to the property that guests could use. It had a grand impressive hall and stairs. Onsite parking was very useful as parking in Torquay wasn’t easy or cheap. The only negative I that can think of is the walk back from the harbour was all up hill and would not be suitable if you had walking difficulties but Torquay is very hilly and should be expected I suppose, there is always the option of a taxi back to the property If you can’t face the walk back. Overall I would recommend staying at this property If you want to visit Torquay.

Lovely flat, ideal for our family of four. Very clean and well equipped. Everything you could possibly need was provided. We received a warm welcome when we arrived which was nice after our long journey. The flat is in a very characterful old building which is very handy for the town centre. We would stay again.

très bel appartement, calme dans maison de style, superbe vue mer à partir du balcon qui donne sur le séjour, nous avons appréciés les délicates attentions et les conseils avisés de John notre hôte. Les draps de lits et les serviettes de bain fournis nous ont permis de voyager plus léger. La situation de l'appartement permet de laisser la voiture sur le parking et de faire tout à pied (800 mètres du port et du centre ville)

Fabulous apartment with lovely views

We were greeted by John on arrival who immediately made us feel relaxed and at home, providing us with milk and tea so we could have a cuppa as soon as we got there. The apartment was large, bright and airy, with a well equipped kitchen, and a balcony with a seating area, where we could admire the beautiful gardens, and look across Torquay and see the sea. The apartment was well decorated and maintained, spotlessly clean with 2 bedrooms both with ensuites. We had the opportunity to explore the gardens which also had seating areas to relax in. We were free to borrow dvds, puzzle books and games. There was a kids room with plenty of games and toys, and even a laundry room. The house and gardens are fabulous, with plenty of parking, and only 10 minutes from the town centre, there is a slight hill. This is a beautiful property, and John has created a very homely and relaxed atmosphere. We would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Torquay.

Just spent a week at the end of May, me my partner and two children ages 14 and 10, have to say the apartment was great, plenty of room and the views were fantastic, owner John was very helpful and such a nice person. 10 minute walk to marina where there are plenty of nice bars and restaurants(quite a steep walk back). Short drive to other attractions like the water park, Kent caverns and much more. Would definitely return. Thanks John for a great stay.

A very convenient position just one road up from the Seafront. We did not have the best weather so it was good to be able to use the Games Room. John was a charming host and nothing was too much trouble. We would highly recommend this apartment.

Fantastic Apatment

The apartment was very well maintained and clean, with fantastic views of the sea. The owners John and Angela made us very welcome and gave us plenty advice of the local attractions. Have already recommended to family and friends and can't wait to visit again!! Lots to see and do in Torquay and the surrounding areas. We love walking and didn't use our car all week, as there was lots to keep us entertained locally.

Found in the heart of the English Riviera and nestled within the hills of Torquay, Vomero is quiet and secluded yet within walking distance of the bustling bay with its shops, bars and restaurants

What makes this property unique

The English Riviera is the birth place of Agatha Christie and many of her novels are based around Torbay.
Vomero was once the home of Isambard Kingdom Brunel back in 1848 and we have a blue plaque at our entrance.
Quiet & secluded location nestled in the hills of Torquay, with fabulous sea views from our upstairs apartments with private balconies.
An acre of beautiful award winning gardens, downstairs Venezia has a private terrace and direct garden access.
Vomero is within a ten minute walk of the sea, town, restaurants and theatre.
The Torquay Princess Theatre has amazing shows on year round, west end shows, musicals & music events! Other local theatres in Paignton and Babbacombe.
So many fabulous restaurants and bars, you’ll be spoilt for choice!
Local restaurants offer many seafood delights as Brixham fishing village is part of Torbay and just a ferry trip across the bay.
Jump on the ferry or bus to Brixham, Paignton or Dartmouth and leave the car behind.
