Lakeview Fishing Cabin

Wonderful cozy, rustic wood cabin, we call the Lakeview Fishing Cabin that sits on a beautiful location overlooking the lake and mountains at the Preserve in Johnson's Creek. The Preserve is located on the southwest side of Lookout Mountain in Rising Fawn, GA. We are just 35 minutes from downtown Chattanooga, but located in the mountains in a quiet retreat!

This wonderful cabin is at Lookout Mountain in a 2800 acres Preserve! Renting the cabin gives you access to multiple fishing lakes that back up to Johnson Lake. There are miles of hiking possibilities and creeks to explore. We are 35 minutes from downtown Chattanooga, the Tennessee Aquarium, Rock City and Ruby Falls. We are 15 minutes from the famous Canyon Grill restaurant and Cloud land Canyon State Park and many more outdoor activities! We are 20 minutes from Mentone. We are a hour away from the Sequatchie River in Dunlap, GA where you can canoe in the river. There is also a fun drive-in theatre in Trenton, GA just 15 minutes away!

The cabin affords beautiful mountain and lake views at the Preserve. The cozy, 700 sq ft, two level cabin has just what you need for a romantic getaway or a trip away with the kids. The back porch sits directly on the lake and is a prefect place for relaxing with mountains views and beautiful sunrises and sunsets!

This cozy cabin sleeps up to 4 people. On the main level, there is a stocked kitchen, comfy couch and living space, bar stool seating, TV with Dish Satellite and a full bathroom with a shower. At the top of the hickory lined stairs, you will find a loft with 2 twin beds and a private bedroom with a double bed.

This cabin is surrounded by beautiful trees and mountains and sits directly on the lake.

Fishing is allowed on your lake right off your back porch and with another lake within the Preserve. Just bring your own fishing supplies. There is also on site horse trail riding! I can give you the contact information!

Quiet Getaway

We had a great time! Close to Chattanooga and any of the sights you might want to see. We spent quite a bit of time fishing off of the deck in the mornings and evenings.

This was an excellent location to rest, relax, and fish! The cabin was clean and was just what we needed to enjoy a few days away. The online pictures are accurate and everything was as listed. We will definitely be back!

Was absolutely stunning

The view was the best part of this whole trip, it was amazing to come outside waking up early in the morning with coffee and just breathing in and sight seeing the mountains and water. It was so refreshing, the owners were so nice and provided everything we needed for the stay. We will definitely be back!

We had a really good time. It was so nice and relaxing there by the lake, and not far from other activities by Chattanooga. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you. A sugestion...maybe a new bed matress on the twin beds, specially the bed on the right side going up the stairs.

The cabin was fantastic! We had a great relaxing weekend. The grill ran out of gas so I wasn't able to grill my steaks but pan seared them and they were still great. The bathroom could use a shelf above the sink for toothbrushes. Other than those 2 little things it was fantastic and I will definitely reserve again!

Cozy place on the water

Nice place, could use some deck updates (we really like lounging outdoors). We easily commuted back and forth to Chattanooga in about 30 to 40 minutes if you didn't hit 5 o'clock traffic. Overall a good "get away" experience.

Dirtiest VRBO ever!

~ Hot in the entire upstairs, only a small jerry rigged ac window unit to cool the whole area upstairs and the window unit was in the room so the loft area got no cool air, our daughter was hot ~ Ceiling fans upstairs were as dusty as it gets to the point the dust bunnies were over the edges ~ The blinds were covered in layer of dust and had dead bugs on the them ~ The entire outside of the house is covered in dead bugs and needs to be pressure washed, especially around the doors and windows ~ Dead bugs on the first floor ac control panel ~ Pots and pans were just thrown under the cabinets, it was a mess, I had to pull it all out and organize it just to use one or two items ~ Half empty containers of left behind food. ~ Broken plastic chair on the back deck that would absolutely have collapsed if even a child would have sat in it ~ Extremly low ceiling fans upstairs, this is dangerous, one fan hit the hat on my head almost knocking it off, this was the fan in the bedroom, the blades on that fan sag down as they are warped from the heat, so we left the ceiling fans off during our stay to be safe, it should be considered to just remove the ceiling fans upstairs. ~ No wifi available to renters but a quick check on your phone and you can see there is wifi in the area but it shows up secured, very low cellular signal, and the tv only gets a few minor channels and those channels you do get are nit soemthing most people watch ~ Back deck is in need of serious repairs due to rot

This was a perfect weekend get away for me and my husband. It has everything we needed in the kitchen to cook dinner if needed, Chattanooga wasn’t far which was also nice. Communication with the property manager was so easy and nice. For some reason, the air downstairs on our last night started blowing hot which made the small space very warm but we were leaving the next day so it was fine.

This is a wonderful quiet place. It was a perfect distance from Cloudland Canyon which we visited for a hike. There is plenty to do within 30 minutes of the cabin but we did not want to leave! I hope to get back.
