Relaxing week in stunning countryside with added hot tub luxury
We had a very relaxing week in this very spacious well equipped barn conversion. Well situated close to M6 and within easy distance of the Lakes and Dales.
Relaxing in the hot tub under the stars was a highlight.
The property although a little difficult to locate is in a stunning location and so worth it once you do find it. The views are amazing.
The owners greeted us upon arrival and showed us around. They were very friendly and polite. It is run by a large family who all live on the site ok the 3 houses next to the barn & the farmhouse, so although they keep themselves to themselves and you don’t see them, they are on hand if anything was to go wrong. They also come round early in the morning before we got up to clean and refill the hot tub. Which we loved as previous lodges we’ve stayed in we had to do this ourselves.
The property itself is lovely. Traditional & Very well equipped. It had everything we needed. They even provide the basic essentials such as tea, coffee, sugar, salt pepper and sauces. Tea towels, cleaning products, tin foil and cling film.
Hair dryer, Towels and robes were also provided in the bedrooms, They really did think of it all.
It was clean and tidy and had all the amenities that we needed. The fridge & freezer are both a good size and the freezer has an ice making function too. We even used the washing machine. (Soap provided also)
It is very well organised with the separate bins for recycling in the utility room.
We loved the open plan layout upstairs, it’s perfect for socialising, the bedrooms are a good size too.
We loved all the little personal home for home touches they have with book shelves of books, to fresh flowers in every room. The flowers were stunning too and the scent from the lilies lasted the whole of our stay.
We’ve stayed in other lodges but this is by far the best and we are already looking at booking again in October.
The only criticism we could make and to be honest it’s not a criticism, is that it doesn’t mention on the description about everything that is provided ie tea, coffee, condiments, towels etc that I mentioned above and we brought all our own which we didn’t need too. Oh and maybe some instructions on how to use the dishwasher, we still don’t fully know how it worked but that could have just been us ha ha
But like I said these are not really criticisms as we couldn’t find fault with this lodge at all and can’t wait to return.
Thanks for a great stay
We rented this barn for a get together with cousins. It was pretty easy to get to and not as close to the M6 as 1st thought. The owners showed us in the house for 2 secs and never see them again. The place is beautiful (my ideal home) but is in need of TLC and a good clear out of personal possessions. It just had a basic clean before we arrived which was a bit disappointing. no running water the first morning but that was soon fixed and it took a good hour for fire wood to be delivered. But all of that aside we had a lovely time. Thank you for having us.
We would highly recommend this property. It is a beautiful barn conversion surrounded with stunning views. The hot tub and log burner were great additions too.
What a lovey barn, really nice location with great views! The barn inside is really homely and well stocked in terms of cutlery, glasses, towels, toilet roll, cleaning supplies etc which is really thoughtful and even has towelled dressing gowns which came in handy getting in and out of the hot tub!
No complaints re hot tub, sometimes they can go cold etc but this one stayed hot all night and the owners even topped the water up for us each night!
Great location for the animal lovers as they have cute dogs roaming around, horses, chickens etc which were all really friendly!
All in all, fab weekend! Thanks for having us!
