About this property

3 bedroom Alentejo Style villa with private pool in unspoilt rural countryside.

Beautiful rustic house in the lower Alentejo region of southern Portugal just north of the Algarve. Set in its own grounds of three acres with terrific panoramic countryside views from the poolside terrace, it is the perfect place for peace and quiet and total relaxation. This is the real Portugal.
Inside the house is a fully equipped open plan Kitchen, dining and lounge. The living area has a large L-shaped couch and a 42inch TV with DVD player and opens out onto a covered pool terrace. Here is a great place to enjoy your breakfast whilst waiting for the day to heat up.
There are three ensuite bedrooms, two overlook the 12mx6m pool.
There is also a utility room with a washing machine.
Outside there is a BBQ and an outdoor dining area under a covered pergola, a special place to watch the sunset and thereafter wonder at the millions of stars in the night sky. You'll be blown away by the milky way, the summer shooting stars and the silence!!
The pool has sun loungers but no umbrellas.
Surrounded by fields with farm animals and natural wildlife it's a great place to unwind.
Should you be lucky enough to come in the Spring, the fields of wild flowers that the Alentejo is renowned for will take your breath away.
if you want exercise, apart from the ample sized pool, there is a 5km circuit along quiet farm tracks to walk or run on.
The village is a kilometre away and though it doesn't have a lot to offer, there is are 2 mini markets, several cafés, a bakery and a Pharmacy. There is also an ATM machine and a post office.
The nearest town is 13km from the property and has two large supermarkets, banks, pharmacies, cafes and restaurants, a library and several shops.
The nearest West Coast beaches are 50 minutes away by car and the Algarve beaches are an hour away by car.
Fancy a trip to Lisbon? The train station is only 3km and the journey time 2 hours.

Words of warning:-
This is a rustic country house set in the fields and is only accessible along a bumpy rough farm track 1km in length. If you are worried about your car please do not book this property.
Although the house is very comfortable, please do not expect luxury, this is a rustic, rural retreat.

A lovely slice of peace and quiet

Lovely quiet spot overlooking the countryside, exactly what we were looking for. Clean, spacious and comfortable with everything you'd expect made this a truly relaxing week. Martin was an excellent host, it was good to meet him and good to know there was someone nearby if we had any issues - fortunately we had none.

We had a marvellous stay in Garvaõ! The house is located in a very quiet place, but very close to the small town. The house is spacious and has everything you need. The owner is very helpful! He made sure there were radiators in the house (together with a wood stove) to get the house warm in December. We recommend the house!!

Relaxing and enjoyable stay

As a family of 5, with children's ages ranging from 10-17 we are so glad that we booked this villa! There was plenty of space for everyone, and a large pool that we all enjoyed for hours on end. The villa was very well equipped and clean, with amenities close by. The surrounding countryside offered peace and quiet, with our daughter enjoying feeding the local horses and our son enjoying his morning run. At night there is no light pollution, so we were able to enjoy the night sky and watch the shooting stars. The owner was welcoming and respected our privacy throughout our stay. We will definitely be back- thank you!

We have just returned from a wonderful two-week stay at Martin’s villa, and it truly exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt instantly relaxed and at home. The villa is spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, and equipped with everything you could possibly need for a perfect holiday.The outdoor space is fantastic – the pool is a real highlight and provided endless fun and relaxation throughout our stay. There are plenty of areas to sit and unwind, whether you’re enjoying a morning coffee, a family meal, or an evening drink watching the sunset.Inside, the villa is spacious, rustic, and extremely comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook at home, and the living spaces are ideal for both relaxing and spending time together as a family. The bedrooms are very comfortable, with plenty of storage, and everyone slept really well.The location is excellent too – peaceful and private, yet only a short drive from local shops, restaurants. It gave us the best of both worlds: total relaxation and easy access to explore the surrounding area.Most importantly, Martin was a wonderful host. Communication was excellent from the moment we booked, and he went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better holiday. We left with amazing memories and have already booked for 3 weeks next year!

We spent 2 weeks in Martin’s villa in September. Faboulus weather. Absolutely perfect with large clean nice pool to cool down. Villa is beautiful. Spacious 3 ensuite bedrooms with extra communal WC. Big open plan living area and well equiped kitchen. 2 lovely outside settings to eat - one just outside living room where we enjoyed breakfasts on patio and other one in shaded bbq area where we had lovely dinners watching sun setting over unspoiled views of sourrinding fields. Villa is located in quiet village. You can see neighbours houses in far distance but there is nothing to spoil peace and quiet if you want to unwind from busy life. Watching sky full of stars at night was nothing like ever before. There’s only nature sounds at that time, nothing else. Nearest town - Ourique - offers anything you need during your stay from daily shopping to lovely traditional pastelarias (cafes), bars and restaurant (serves local black pork specialities). If you want to sightsee - Algarve coast is just over an hour away. We wanted some sunbathing on the beach as well, so we visited Villa Nova de Milfontes and Porto Covo beaches (over west coast) and they did not dissapoint. Martin is great host. He’s there for you if you need help but also respectfull of his guests privacy. Cannot recommed enough. We are looking forward to come back soon.

Moradia excelente para relaxar e descansar. A moradia estava limpa e arrumada, a cozinha tinha TUDO que precisamos, mesmo tudo. Ein wunderbarer Urlaub. Die Buchung war einfach, die Vorauszahlung erfolgte wie vereinbart. Martin hat uns am Supermarkt abgeholt und zum Haus begleitet. Das Ferienhaus ist abgelegen, an der kleinen Privatstraße. Völlige Ruhe. Der saubere Pool ist von großen Pflanzen umgeben. Man kann Schatten und Sonne finden. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Es war ein äußerst erholsamer und ruhiger Urlaub. Wir haben uns unglaublich wohl gefühlt. 2025 werden wir wiederkommen.

A estadia foi soberba. A casa é maravilhosa, bem equipada, sala e cozinha muito amplos e confortáveis. A piscina tem uma boa dimensão. Tudo isto num monte alentejano onde a privacidade e beleza dominam. Vista desafogada com direito a por do sol fantástico. Anfitrião concede total privacidade e muito simpático. O unico ponto menos forte é a limpeza que poderia ser colmatado por contratar outra empresa para esse efeito. Adoramos e recomendamos. 5 estrelas.

Um monte tipicamente alentejano, bem decorado e com todas as comodidades. Permite-nos relaxar num ambiente pautado pela tranquilidade, paz e uma belíssima paisagem. A piscina é excelente e podermos fazer as refeições no alpendre é maravilhoso. Temos total privacidade. Os quartos têm muita luz, o que é ótimo, mas como as janelas não têm portadas nem cortinados opacos quando o dia nasce fica difícil dormir com tanta claridade. Mas este é só um aspeto menos positivo e de fácil resolução, que não impediu de termos uma estadia excelente. A habitação é fantástica e recomendamos com toda a certeza!

Paz e sossego

Moradia isolada que dá para descansar com todas as condições de conforto. A piscina é muito acima da média. A casa é ainda melhor e mais ampla do que mostram as fotografias. Inclui todas as comodidades: máquina de lavar roupa, detergente, molas e estendais, detergente e esponja louça, sabonetes e papel higiénico nos WC's, etc. Não notamos falta de nada. Os quartos só têm cortinas finas, o que deixa entrar toda a claridade ao amanhecer. Voltaríamos de certeza!

Piscina e descanso!

Procurámos um espaço isolado para descansar, longe da cidade e de ajuntamentos, e esta foi uma escolha acertada. A moradia é fiel às fotos, creio que maior e mais rústica, muito charmosa. A piscina tem muito bom tamanho, em comprimento e profundidade, o tempo quente ajudou para a aproveitarmos ao máximo. Espaço exterior muito aprazível de dia e de noite, quando o céu estrelado proporciona um lindo espectáculo. A limpeza geral da casa é, contudo, um aspecto a melhorar.

"Confinando"
