Lovely week in Montreuill Bellay

Our second visit to the property, delayed of course by you know what. Lovely quiet house, well equipped and maintained. The area is quiet and the village is beautiful, of course. Owners, are very nice and welcoming. Very enjoyable stay.

A wonderful holiday.

This beautifully renovated character building was our home from home whilst in Montreuil-Bellay. Maryline and Bertrand are friendly and gracious hosts who were very patient with our poor french! The pool was lovely and much appreciated in the hot weather. We would recommend this property.

Modernised and well located property

The summer really started with our week at the property- the temperature soared and we enjoyed the pool and garden. The location is quiet and ideal as a base to visit the town (30 minutes walk), Saumur and the locality. The house is spacious and well equipped for the two of us, with stone walls and modernised interior. Our hosts were helpful and communications were good. Recommended.

The gite was clean, spacious and furnished to a high standard. Bertrand and Maryline were fabulous hosts, friendly but not intrusive. We managed to communicate well with our poor spoken French and Bertrand's better English. The pool was wonderful and available 09:00-19:00 daily. A lovely base with many attractions within an hours drive. We'd definitely like to stay here again.

Nous avons passé un très bon sejour ! Le gîte est très bien équipé et calme !. Nous avons profité de la piscine presque chaque jour dans un cardre très sympathique ! A hidden gem in a perfect location.

Tasteful, stylish yet practical property, within a minutes drive of vineyards a five minutes from all the facilities of a beautiful French market town. This exquisite barn conversion is hidden behind a discrete door on a quiet street, combines original 15th century architectural features with high end interior design and furniture, very comfortable beds and terrific shower, the nearly 2 metre(!) thick walls kept the gite cool during the day and warm at night. A few moments walk from the garden was beautiful pool not overlooked at all by the owners who's home is set at right angles to it. The pool area has an equal balance of lots of shade for shade lovers and plenty of sun for sun worshippers, the pool was clean and very warm. Marylin et Bertrand were super friendly but never intrusive and shared treats with us, including their adorable puppy! And were patient with our French! Vineyards are a few minutes to the left Montreuil-Bellay exceeded our expectations, wonderful bakers and shops five minutes away, the SuperU in town even opens Sunday morning which is atypical for France. The roads are quiet and easy to drive and well signed, there are many interesting places within a short drive, Angers, Thouars, Chinon and the extraordinary musee-dufresne! We would definitely return at any time of year to this beautiful gite.

Vacances au calme

Correspond à ce que nous recherchions. La maison est petite mais le nécessaire était présent. La seule précision à apporter dans l’annonce est que la piscine est du côté du jardin des propriétaires et qu’il y a des horaires d’ouverture de 9h à 19h. Pour d’autres, cela pourrait freiner mais pour notre famille ce n’était pas gênant. Merci pour ces vacances réussies

An excellent break

The space worked well for the three of us. Despite temperatures of around 35C, the property kept cool, and the garden area was well equipped with shade. The only thing we hadn't realised was that the pool is not part of the property, but adjacent to the owner's property - a short walk down the driveway. The property is well equipped - even with a kettle and dishwasher! Everything worked well and the beds were very comfortable. The town of Montreuil-Bellay is a brisk 20 minute walk along the river and well worth a visit - and the lovely town of Saumur is a 15 minute drive. We very much enjoyed our break - and are happy to recommend Bertrand and Maryline's property.

Très belle espace piscine et jardin cosy, les propriétaires sont très gentils

Les seuls bémols sont le grand frigo qui arrive en fin de vie et qui ne fonctionne plus correctement...sur l annonce il n y a pas les horaires de baignade qui cloture assez tôt le soir et le côté privatisé...et sur l annonce il y a écrit barbecue, nous avions tout acheté en charbon pour 3j mais il s agit d une plancha... Sinon les hôtes sont charmant et accueillant

Superbe maison dans ce lieu calme et reposant. Nous étions 3 et avons passez un moment génial. La piscine était à bonne température, parfait pour y passer toute l’a journée. Les hôtes sont à l’écoute et disponibles. Je recommande les yeux fermés.
